Checking in wasn't very easy as no one arrived when I rang the bell and I had to phone.
The bedroom and bathroom weren't very clean. There was something on the bathroom floor which may have been poo, or hopefully was mud (except it's been too dry for there to be any mud around) but I didn't want to look too closely when I cleared it up.
We didn't realise that our bed would be changed the following morning otherwise we would have asked the room to be left. When the towels were changed no bath mat was left.
The rooms were not cleaned particularly well, instead some grease/cleaning fluid (?) of some description was left on an envelope I had left on the desk which I was going to post later. Worse still, my white cotton dressing gown was scooped up in the laundry washing. Although the mistake was understandable it was very stressful trying to get it back and at no point was any apology made. As soon as I realised the problem I called the number on the desk in the room, as no one answered I left a message. In the end I spoke to the breakfast waitress who was very proactive in speaking to housekeeping. Once the dressing gown was found I was told that it would be left in our room, however, there was further to-ing and fro-ing as the garment didn't appear. There was no one on Reception and eventually the housekeeper herself returned the gown just before we checked out. All this palaver added to our generally disappointing stay.

room was too small for a family room, it was far to hot, couldn't open the window fully, bathroom was very dated

Bathroom had stains around bath etc, dripping shower, only one bath/shower towel for 2 people. Also there was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom. Sockets by bed is a normal expectation these days - normally with USB A and C. Might be better to charge a bit more and upgrade the rooms IMO

Not enough sockets in bedroom and one socket didn’t work so we had to choose between using the fan or charging devices .

Very tired looking, soap dispenser empty, poor bathroom, including door didn’t shut.

The bed was hard one of the plug sockets could be used as it was broken

Pillows old and need replacing, hotel. needs a refurb. Steps into reception lose, unsafe.

The whole place is just run down and tatty. The room was dated and tatty everywhere. The bathroom was grotty. The shower felt like it would just pull off the wall. The sealant had black mould all around. My mates said same about their bathrooms. One said the floor was dangerous as there was a soft hole in it where the floor underneath was rotting.
I had no soap at all in my dispensers in the bathroom. I asked for them to be refilled and they weren’t during my two night stay.

No fan in room
