Nice room, and friendly staff.
No cask beer available on a Saturday night. Greene King are renowned for their excellent cask ales. Greene King IPA, and Abott Ale especially.
Very warming, homely, comfortable and welcoming.
Windows were left open when we entered the room and several spiders were found in the room. We spoke to reception and they said they would happily move them for us next time.
The taps didn’t work on bath only shower worked WiFi wasnt good and branch outside window knocking when it was windy and a drippy tap

The staff were very helpful.
The accommodation is clearly very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Sand goes for the restaurant/ pub section which really needs money spending on it. The menu was OK, but the breakfast included with our stay was too limited.

Stay at the oak quite often staff are great and good location, shops nearby and easy to get to Liverpool or Chester by train
