We use this hotel when we visit family in shardlow, the beds are very comfy ,food is good and its not far to travel to see family, we stay in the cottages across from the hotel as we have 2 dogs, it's great for them to come straight out the door on to the beautiful grounds, we did notice a lot had been done since our last visit and it's looking great, can't wait to visit again
Can't think of anything
Einzigartige und ruhige Lage, schönes Pub/Restaurant, sehr grosser Parkplatz.
Kleines Zimmer mit wenig Ablageflächen und keiner schönen Aussicht. (für eine Nacht i.O.)
Location
Room was dated although very spacious.
Although air conditioning structure just not working
Update to the coffee in the rooms aswell packet coffee not great these days when you are paying the money you do!
Breakfast needs better selection of fruit and yoghurts
Better Coffee maybe a selection - lovely new machine
Fabulous location in the heart of Derbyshire at the bend of a river. By far one of the best locations for a hotel
Stayed in the cottages a bit run down.
Its a cute place. Just down the road from Donington Race Track.
Have a onsite bar and restaurant and a stunning garden by the river. Really nice to sit by in the summer.
Room was great for the 1 night. Clean and tidy. Best was comfortable.
Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The afternoon tea was delicious. There was a lovely breeze coming down the river.
Our room was on the ground floor right next to the car park which became very noisey with people shouting and cars leaving at high speed.
We got there early hours and the guy who greated us was lovely he just made us very welcome and very helpful, and we got breakfast to the room and was fantastic, perfect end to the weekend.
Didn't realise when I booked it it was a 40min drive and not near to the event we had gone to, but cause it was so lovely and they really did make us welcome was worth the drive ,and beautiful place by the river on a sunny Sunday 🌞
атмосфера
завтрак был не очень вкусный, номера пора обновить
The setting and the river are beautiful
The cottage rooms need decorating and the whole block is tired. Our first room had had a radiator ON in this weather for 24 hours they knew about it and still put os in the room, we were put in another room but no help was volunteered.
Good location
Good food both for dinner and breakfast
Very friendly restaurant staff both meals
Non existent staff on reception - needs a person there or a way of contacting them. Not difficult to provide a mobile number. You should not leave reception unmanned
TV reception erratic
Should have placed us in a room well away from wedding party. We were on same corridor just a few metres away
Overall looks tired
Location was excellent, down by the river with plenty of outdoor seating.
Lounge was a bit tired but due a refurbishment very soon. Stayed in the cottages which were pleasant enough but tired. Had to carry our bags out the hotel and into first floor room which may not be suitable for all.
I stayed with my two dogs, we had our room in the little row of cottages which suited us perfectly instead of having to navigate stairs, landings, fire doors etc
The walks for the dogs were fab, the lane is so quiet. We throughly enjoyed our stay
There wasn't anything we didn't like, if I had to be really picky I'd say the parking outside the cottage rooms. But it really wasn't a big deal.
The reception staff were excellent after WE mistakenly booked the wrong room and we were relocated without a problem.
The suite was well equipped and spacious. The bed was comfortable.
Breakfast staff were equally great as was the breakfast.
Nothing, except the dinner staff being rushed off their feet
