Great area, and hotel, but put a damper on freedom.

We have stayed here multiple times over the years and have generally enjoyed our experiences, which is why what happened on July 4th was so disappointing.

On the Fourth of July, several families, including ours, were gathered in the pool area watching the fireworks being shot off from the pier. At exactly 10:00 PM, staff came through and required everyone to leave the pool area because it was closing. The fireworks did not end until approximately 10:15 PM, meaning everyone who had been watching from that area missed the finale.

I completely understand that there are rules and established closing times, and I respect the need for staff to enforce them. However, sometimes good customer service means recognizing when a small exception can make a big difference in a guest's experience.

America only turns 250 once.

Keeping the area open for just 15 additional minutes would have allowed families to finish watching the Independence Day fireworks together. Instead of guests walking away talking about what a great experience they had, multiple families walked away frustrated and disappointed.

No one was asking for the pool area to remain open all night. We were simply asking for 15 additional minutes to finish watching a once-in-a-lifetime 250th Independence Day celebration.

Sometimes following a rule to the exact minute isn't worth sacrificing the guest experience—especially when 15 minutes could have turned multiple complaints into multiple compliments.
We've enjoyed staying here in the past, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Hopefully, management will consider situations like this in the future and give staff the flexibility to use reasonable judgment during special events and holidays.

Bedbugs. Booking didnt help.

The room was not clean. Found blue pills on the bathroom floor. Hair everywhere, even on the sheets in the bed. BEDBUGS, BEDBUGS BEDBUGS. We checked out a hour after checking in due to the fact this place was disgusting. We showed them a picture and just got alot of faces and additude at the front desk. Would not return our money, was told we had to go through booking for refund. Booking sofar has been zero help. I will never book through booking again after being a loyal customer for close to ten years. Thanks for the wasted drive from Pa to Florida, and the wasted $600 for a room we didnt stay in.
