Had a pleasant & peaceful stay.
Pros:

Though the Bf was not extravaganza but there was a wide range of international cuisine.

The roof-top bar is excellent, the view the service staff attitude and friendliness. I will recommend this property to fellow travellers to Srilanka.

Pros:

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt! Das gesamte Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich, herzlich und zuvorkommend. Man hat sich vom ersten Moment an sehr willkommen gefühlt.
Auch kulinarisch hat das Hotel überzeugt. Besonders das Frühstücksbuffet war hervorragend und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Ein absolutes Highlight war außerdem die Rooftop-Bar. Die Aussicht ist einfach fantastisch, die Atmosphäre einzigartig und die musikalische Begleitung durch den DJ hat den Abend perfekt abgerundet.
Besonders hervorheben möchte ich auch das Housekeeping-Team, das außergewöhnlich engagiert und aufmerksam war. Selten erlebt man einen so hohen Einsatz und so viel Freundlichkeit.
Der Poolbereich war ebenfalls mega und der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen.
Alles in allem ein schöner Aufenthalt.

Cons:

Leider entsprach die von uns gebuchte Zimmerkategorie nicht der Beschreibung. Wir hatten bewusst mehr für ein Zimmer mit zwei Doppelbetten bezahlt, diese Zimmerkategorie existierte jedoch offenbar gar nicht. Dadurch mussten wir zu dritt in einem recht kleinen Zimmer mit Zustellbett übernachten. Das Front-Office-Team hat sich zwar sehr bemüht, eine Lösung zu finden, dennoch waren wir enttäuscht. Als kleine Geste des Entgegenkommens wäre hier aus unserer Sicht durchaus ein Goodie oder eine andere Form der Kompensation angebracht gewesen. Zusätzlich war das Zimmer bei unserer Ankunft nicht für drei Personen vorbereitet. Das dritte Bett wurde trotz mehrmaliger Nachfrage erst gegen 22:00 Uhr bereitgestellt, was nach einem langen Reisetag natürlich sehr ärgerlich war.
Außerdem haben wir erst am letzten Tag erfahren, dass bei unserer Buchung die Club Lounge inkludiert gewesen wäre. Schade, dass wir darüber nicht früher informiert wurden und dieses Angebot daher nicht nutzen konnten. Insgesamt haben diese Punkte den ansonsten sehr positiven Gesamteindruck leider etwas getrübt.

Very bad experience and not worth for money.
Pros:

Lift failure and I was trapped in the lift for more than 30min.
Following the first day, poorly cooked food led to food poisoning.

A very pleasant stay in a beautiful hotel, made even better by the amazing staff and a lovely room upgrade.
Pros:

I really liked the luxurious feel of the hotel, its great location, and the beautiful room I was allocated following a very appreciated upgrade. The staff were absolutely amazing welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay.

Cons:

Nothing major, but there are a few details that could make the experience even better. For example, the shower hose holder is positioned quite low, the sofa in the living area does not face the TV, and there is no TV in the bedroom. The blackout blinds also let quite a lot of light through at the sides, and as there is no door separating the bedroom from the bathroom area, the light can easily disturb someone who is still sleeping. These are small details, but improving them would really elevate an already very nice and luxurious property.

We stayed at Amari Colombo for two nights. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a luxurious feel and lovely city views. The breakfast was also excellent, with a great selection and good-quality food.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the service was a major disappointment and significantly affected our stay.

We were travelling with our toddler and had a late flight, so we requested a late check-out to allow him to nap comfortably before travelling. The request was handled poorly and I eventually had to ask for a manager. I was told the hotel was fully booked and that a late check-out was impossible because the room needed to be turned around. However, when I said I was happy to pay, the room was suddenly available until 6pm for USD 60. We eventually accepted a 3pm check-out, but the whole situation felt unnecessarily difficult and misleading. I was also told a manager would come to speak to me, but they never did.

The Attico Bar was another disappointment. We waited over an hour for a shisha, only to be told they were still preparing it and had to call an “engineer” to fix it. The staff's attitude and the way this was communicated felt unnecessarily condescending.

We also had an uncomfortable experience with the concierge. The previous evening we had paid around USD 10 for transport to Hotel Nippon and then City of Dreams. The following morning, the concierge quoted my husband USD 20 simply to go to City of Dreams. When he questioned the price and mentioned what we'd paid the night before, the price immediately dropped to USD 10. This left us feeling that an inflated price had initially been quoted.

Overall, the hotel itself is lovely, but unfortunately the level of service and professionalism we experienced over our two days did not match the standard we expected. Several interactions left us feeling unwelcome rather than valued as guests.
