Comfortable, clean, lovely staff, great food.
Pros:

Stayed at the start of the St Cuthbert's Way and then returned to collect my car. Two different rooms; both clean and comfortable. Food excellent; especially loved the plaice.

Rooms looks nice

Cons:

Many things.
Soap dispenser is broken, sink was clogged.
Many items ran out in the menu so we didn’t eat diner there.
Breakfast was slow n no one fill up or replace the empty items like yogurt, pastries etc
Restaurants staff looks tired n very moody.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful town.
Pros:

Great location in centre of town, plenty of parking. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Good breakfast. Pleasant, well trained staff.

A really lovely hotel with very good bar/bistro.
Pros:

The staff are very welcoming. The room was comfortable. The hospitality tray very much appreciated. The location in centre of Melrose is ideal for strolling around and visiting Abbey and Prior wood Gardens.

Cons:

I struggled with opening shower door.

A great stay in a perfect location. Perfect for the Scottish Borders.
Pros:

A warm welcome. My room was comfy and suited a short stay. The breakfast and the team serving were amazing.

Cons:

The evening meal options sounded delicious but I ate out opting for something cheaper and more informal

Lovely one night stay.
Pros:

Burts didn’t disappoint. Lovely clean well appointed room(single), nice staff great sleep and delicious dinner and breakfast.

A rare gem
Pros:

It shows that Burts is a family run business. Staff are welcoming and helpful, service is excellent.
Breakfast was delicious, served at the table, all locally sourced ingredients, cooked to order.
Dinner was very good with a great choice.
My room was comfortable clean and I enjoyed a peaceful sleep.

Cons:

There is nothing to dislike.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as returning guests .
Pros:

The ambience, the availability of a separate restaurant from the bar area. The soft furnishings in the public area help so much with the acoustics particularly for those hard of hearing.

Cons:

The shower curtains in the bathrooms.Also the residents lounge is dismal, it is not always possible to get a pre-dinner drink in the bar due to the tables being reserved for diners so the residents lounge would be a nice option but not in its current state.

Pros:

Great location and convenient car parking right in the middle of town. Single rooms were actually spacious. Very clean and comfortable. Fantastic breakfast options.

A real treat.
Pros:

A friendly welcome from all, and an excellent location. After an explore, we caught the last of the sun in the beautifully kept beer garden. Fantastic evening meal, and a great breakfast choice. Bed and room super comfortable.
