Great place to stay, would use again
Pros:

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, with option of great food on the side, great location, easy access to near towns. All staff were very friendly and made everyone feel very welcome. Great breakfast

Pros:

The bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom nice and spacious with double sink. Peaceful location next to a minor road, with great soundproofing on window. Slept well. Breakfast very nice indeed, lovely staff.

Cons:

All’arrivo ci è stato comunicato che non ci sarebbe stato il servizio di cena in hotel. Lenti nel servire la colazione e assenza di ascensore per il piano superiore.

Pros:

The staff were amazing, very polite and friendly. The room was spacious, lovely big bathroom with a shower and bath.

Cons:

There wasn't really anything that we didnt like. The price could be seen a lil expensive for the later check in ans quite an early check out.

Lovely community hotel with fantastic staff. Highly recommended.
Pros:

Welsh Pub of the Year 2025! Great beer. Nice beer garden. Staff were excellent, friendly and chatty. Spotlessly clean rooms with an excellent shower. Food ok in evening, but the breakfast was superb. Lots of parking.

Cons:

Evening meal was poor, hence 9 not 10. WiFi not great.

Un magnifique endroit
Pros:

La chambre les équipements la salle de bain immense le petit déjeuner

Cons:

Malheureusement nous avions la chambre sur la rue donc bruyante et cette charmante lumière verte sans doute pour indiquer l’issue de secours mais en pleine nuit presque au-dessus du lit ce n’est l’idéal pour dormir

A great short stay
Pros:

The location was lovely as was the hotel. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional.

Cons:

We chose the hotel because it has a restaurant, however, on arrival we discovered it does not open on a Sunday evening so we had to travel to the next town to find something to eat.

A real gem in a quiet location
Pros:

Wasn't quite sure what to expect of a Community Run Pub and Hotel in a very quiet village but really hit the mark on all counts. Looked very much like it had recently been refurbished, several different areas to eat and a beer garden with gorgeous views. The menu choice was standard pub fare but definitely homemade and nicely presented and reasonably priced.
We booked a bigger bedroom and it had a huge bathroom and all fittings were a high standard .
Particular call out for the staff, especially the barman who went out of his way to give us some excellent driving road recommendations.

A lovely hotel, great evening meals, lovely staff and area.
Pros:

Gluten free menu - as a Coeliac I had lots of options, which I wasn't expecting outside a city centre

Cons:

We had the same room as the year before; it's showing some signs of wear. Grout stains, handles held on with Blu-Tack.

The breakfast was just OK, was better last year (to my memory) - so we chose to eat elsewhere for breakfast.

Fabulous accommodation & dining.
Pros:

Glan Yr Afon is a beautiful building in a lovely village. We stayed in room 4 which was excellent. The bed was comfortable and fan provided to combat the exceptional heat was very quiet and effective. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices are great and the restaurant food is superb. If you stay here and want to eat in the restaurant, do book ahead as it is very popular. Thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay and dine.

Lovely stay, quiet comfortable room
Pros:

Lovely quiet village location with easy access to places we wished to visit. A nice large car park.

Cons:

Unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday night and the pub only served lunches.
