The spy bar down below is very noisy till 11:30 PM and I think it was very clearly mentioned in the reviews and by the Hotel also and also it was very clearly mentioned. It’s across the street and there is no Reception, so the hotel has been transparent, and if you’re tired and you want to sleep early, then I would not recommend to stay here, but if you want to party and you want to see some nice part of Newcastle party scenes and pubs, then it’s great
Put in a satellite hotel with no staff. Building and communal spaces were run down and tatty. Ground floor was a student bar we were right above that played loud music untill 11. Could not sleep until then. This is only suitable for students and stag/hen do's.
Ideal location for GNR start area. Plenty of shops and restaurants
Lack of lift. Only because my legs was done post the Great North Run.

I thought I was booked into the cairn hotel but was told I was in their sister hotel across the road. If I had know this I wouldn’t have booked it.
It was very run down. The bedroom halls smelled of toilet cleaner. The room itself had a very pungent odour mix between drains and bins. The room was very stuffy even with the window open. The sink had a massive crack in it and the bathroom had a lot of dubious hairs around the shower and sink. The mattress was very old and uncomfortable

I booked this hotel as i had stayed before in jesmond before for the great north run. i was disappointed to be told a day before i travelled that i would be staying in another building and not the hotel i booked. the building i stayed in was dirty
the room was dirty bedding/fridge/wall etc.. and was pretty noisy at night.
