After a long time, we finally came across a truly disappointing hotel. We chose it because it was close to the city centre but away from it, near the airport, which seemed like a safe area, and we expected much better.
The hotel has a very attractive lobby, and the first room we were given looked fine at first. However, the air conditioning didn't work, and the key card didn't open the door on the first attempt. I went back to reception, and after a lengthy discussion, the receptionist finally came upstairs with me and showed me the "correct" way to hold the key card against the reader to unlock the door.
The air conditioner was blowing air, but it wasn't cold. The key card worked only intermittently, and the room never cooled down. I insisted on either another room or a refund. Eventually, a maintenance technician came to inspect the air conditioner, but nothing changed. In the end, he escorted us to another room where the air conditioning was working.
Unfortunately, it only worked until around midnight. After that, the room became unbearably hot again. Fortunately, it had cooled down outside after the rain, so I opened the window instead of arguing with the staff again in the middle of the night. Of course, sleeping with the window open meant waking up very early because of the birds and the traffic from the nearby industrial area.
It is obvious that the hotel has ongoing problems with its air conditioning, and the staff are well aware of it. However, the rooms are still advertised on Booking.com as air-conditioned. That made the whole experience feel misleading and very disappointing.
Room was OK
The location. They call themselves hotel Zen-airport, but the transport to the airport is poor. When we arrived the night before,we asked front desk to help us get a taxi with pick up at 4 am for our 6 am flight. He couldn’t but said he’d call again at 3:30 and ask for the taxi. When we came down at 4 am, there was no taxi and no one at the front desk. We rang the bell twice and no one came. We had to walk 20 minutes with the suitcases in the dark until we were able to find a Bolt. We made it in time but it was stressful!
Location, it s next to the Craiova Airport ! Good for flights
