Rooms at The Vault

Booking.com sent an email to say the bar below the rooms, had live music until 2pm. My husband slept well but I didn’t sleep until bar customer’s left after 2pm, however it was a Saturday night and England had just won their World Cup match.

Blinds let a lot of light in so could do with some curtains being added, located above a pub and on the high street which was stated but loud music from pub until 2am and nosey again by 8am by street noise so wouldn’t recommend if you want a early night or are a light sleeper.

Nothing major - access route is a little off-putting

Just a little more thought would have made it perfect. Fan and kettle positioned with no access to plug. On one of the hottest days of the year a bottle of Buxton water would have been a welcome addition as would a sheet on the bed - much too warm for a duvet! Two emails with information about access and facilities were received the day after our arrival and would have been useful before. (We did, however, receive prior messages regarding the parking situation which was helpful.)

Nothing it was all good. I did find the TV a bit complicated but that would be my fault. By the way I did not grade the staff as it was unstaffed and self check in.

You do get pre warned about the noise as it is above a pub. This didn't bother us as we were out late anyway. The noise in the morning is still noticeable from the road outside but just a minor issue. You do get supplied a eye mask and earplugs which was a nice touch. The heat in the room was stifling. There was a fan but this only helped a little. Not sure if the windows opened or not but couldn't open them. Again only a minor issue as we were out most of the time and the weather was unusually hot

Room and bed small, and only small fan for cooling.

Location was the wrong choice for an overnight stay during the carnival weekend as it was very noisy from 6am when the street cleaning teams got to work.

Bring ear plugs or noise canceling headphones to be able to sleep before 2 AM on the weekends due to DJ nights in the pub below

The location, although I knew it was above a pub it did get extremely loud with younger people outside the pub shouting, also cars pipping a tune to each other on their hooters!!! Had to close windows which was not ideal as it was 32 degrees!!
