Great location with opportunity to enhance
Pros:

Location was great for the RSC Theatre; room was well appointed and had all the facilities we expected; staff at breakfast and in reception were friendly and welcoming

Cons:

Courtyard was off limits at peak times; staff in the evening were polite but not customer oriented.

A comfortable stay in a superb location for the theatre.
Pros:

My room was very comfortable and the coffee/tea tray generously included biscuits and snacks, as well as a good range of tea and coffee/decaf. The towels in my bathroom were new and the toiletries pleasant to use. The location for the theatre is unbeatable and being able to park at the hotel makes a huge difference.

Cons:

The person who checked me in had clearly just returned from a smoking break and reeked of cigarettes. Service at breakfast was very slow. But the coffee was good!

Good quality small hotel, with good restaurant.
Pros:

The hotel was opposite the RSC theatre which was good as we were going to the theatre. The brasserie did a good pre-theatre dinner. The food was good and was very good value.
The breakfast was much better than last time we stayed.Good quality and choice.

Cons:

We reserved our room several months in advance and requested a room near the reception. We were given a room on the top floor at the top of a steep spiral staircase.Very disappointing.

Good but could be better!
Pros:

Great location for RSC theatre. Onsite car park. Well stocked tea tray in room. Good selection of toiletries replenished each day. Efficient and quiet air con.

Cons:

Some surly staff with one locking an entrance door as we approached to enter. Long wait for cooked breakfast one morning. Dogs in breakfast room. £10 charge for car park not stated when booked. Receptionist asked for a discretionery service charge on check out (which we declined).

Pros:

Det mesta var helt perfekt och hade vädret varit bättre så hade vi kunnat sitta ute till frukost.
Hotellet ligger granne med Shakespear Society Theatre så passa på att se en av deras föreställningar, boka tidigt...

Disappointing
Pros:

Proximity to the RSC

Cons:

Really needs investment , we used to stay quite often before lockdown . The Bathroom was tight and difficult to use ; the bath has very high sides, my wife who is 5'4" found it very difficult to get in and out . The TVs are very old and not smart so unable to connect for streaming . I can't remember the last time I saw a dvd player - this probably reflects the older clientele. No plugs near the bed to charge phones
The bistro was appalling , presented well but poor quality ingedients and cold over cooked food. The continental breakfast was sparse to say the least , at 9.15am there were 2 pastries , some frozen berries and some greek 'style' yoghurt again the cheap produce really shouldn't be used in this standard of hotel . The cooked breakfast had thick bacon but frozen sausages and the smallest eggs of the palest hue ever.
Staff were very polite and appologetic, as we stated we didn't wan't a discount we just wanted it to be better.

Fabulous, would stay again
Pros:

Fabulous staff, lovely comfy bed, lots of nice little extra touches in the room made for a wonderful stay. Super deep bath which was lovely. Location opposite theatre and on the river bank for a walk was also fabulous. Breakfast was very good and nice to have good coffee with our breakfast.

Cons:

I didn’t realise parking was an additional charge but that was my fault for not checking, still it was nice to stay somewhere with a large secure onsite car park so it was worth it. Also being asked if I would like to pay a service charge on the way out was a surprise, I did pay it as the staff were wonderful but the service charge and parking added extra on to the cost of my stay which I hadn’t anticipated. I would stay again despite this. Drinks a little pricey but that is to be expected in a hotel.

Nice hotel with friendly staff but a few niggles
Pros:

A nice central location with easy access to town centre. Staff were very courteous. Breakfast good.

Cons:

Room was nice but too much furniture making it feel cramped to move around. High step up into bath to have a shower. Outrageous service charge put on our bill! Should have been told about the token you need to get out of car park.
