No oven

Wasn't as clean as I would of expected. My son slept on couch upstairs as more comfortable than the single beds. When we moved the couches there was rubbish under them. We didn't end up using cooking facilities but there was oil dripping from exhaust fan. When I used the shower I went to take hose from shower head and the whole thing came off. Just needs a little TLC. Other than that all was good.

Something that turns me off is the beddings, the duvet is has alot of brown stains, there is no duvet cover, it was just covered with bedsheets.

The stairs and parking space

The steep climb up to level where apartment was. Arrived in the dark , lighting could have been better.
For a 4 star apartment it was disappointing to see curtains with broken clips so they were just hanging and unable to pull them shut.
Door to balcony had broken bottom latch so couldn’t close tightly.
Blind in bedroom would not go up.
Would be great to have more than one spare blanket .
Would have been nice to have a small outdoor table on balcony.
Maintenance obviously not done regularly

We booked through Bookings.com for Lakefront Apartments, but upon arrival we were placed in what was called “The Lodges,” which appeared to be a completely different and far more rundown complex further down the road. This was very disappointing and not what we expected based on the listing.

While the bedding and towels were clean, the same could not be said for the apartment itself. It was extremely dated and poorly maintained. There were electrical cords running across the floor, flickering lights, a bathroom fan that could not be switched off, dusty blinds, and a strong musty smell throughout.

Considering the price we paid, we expected much better value and a standard closer to what was advertised. The additional 3% credit card surcharge was also disappointing and added to the overall negative experience.

Based on our experience, our stay was very disappointing and we would not recommend staying here.

The steps - I have some issues medically and the steps slowed me down (this was a personal issue - but meant that I needed assistance to access the apartment and the bedrooms - the lack of a full bannister on the inside stairs was a concern). The lack of a toilet in the en-suite caused personal safety concerns due to the need for multiple overnight visits - and difficulty accessing the toilet upstairs in the middle of the night with limited vision). Most of our party preferred the use of the shower downstairs - except sometimes we had to get some assistance to open the door when it got stuck. The apartment easily met our needs - my personal medical concerns are a matter of conjecture - but need mentioning.

Deceit of hotel. On arrival we were not given a room in the advertised address. In fact we were told we needed to walk back on the street and go to another unrelated building down the road. No explanation. Later they claimed there were no 3 bedroom apartments available in this building, only a 2 bedroom apartment. (then why did they accept our booking, at best a double booking but possibly a common practice). The apartment displayed on Booking.com did not resemble the apartment we were given. Our apartment turns out to be a low quality apartment in an older building down the street. Booking.com pictures had open plan living areas, separate kitchen, dining and sitting rooms with lake views from all bedrooms and the kitchen. We got squeezed into a combined dining and sitting room, with a separate narrow old kitchen (see photo). Only 1 bedroom had a lake view. Kitchen overlooked a stairway. Not to mentioned leaking shower recess When we raised these issues during our stay, the reception tried to shift the blame to us as the issue wasn't raised quickly enough.

We have spent over 1 month trying to get compensation and apology but have been stonewalled by the General Manager. He has not once tried to contact us. We now need to submit a claim to the Disputes Tribunal as the advertised apartment is expensive but did not match the low quality rooms supplied.
More stress & costs.
