Lovely Hotel, but the Guest Experience Needs Improvement
The hotel looks lovely and has a lot of potential, but unfortunately we found it a little lifeless and there are still several areas that need improvement before it truly feels like a five-star experience.
The location is quite a long way outside the main town, which became a problem when trying to get around. The reception advised that a taxi would cost around 4,000 rupees, whereas an Uber for the same journey was approximately 250 rupees. However, getting an Uber to actually collect us from home the hotel was almost impossible, which left us feeling rather trapped at times. For a hotel in this location, I would expect better and more reasonably priced transport options for guests.
The staff were generally friendly, although communication could be improved, particularly when dealing with international tourists.
We also booked a desert experience through the hotel’s travel adviser. The jeep safari itself was amazing and one of the highlights of our stay. However, it was not made clear what was and was not included in the overall experience. We were collected at around 5.30pm and, after the jeep safari, were expected to remain in the desert until sunset despite having nowhere comfortable to sit and very little to do unless we wanted to pay for camel rides or quad biking. As we were not interested in either of these activities, it would have been much better if we had been offered a later departure time. The travel adviser should explain the itinerary and optional activities much more clearly before guests book.
There rooms were large, but ours had virtually no view (for a new modern building) and we experienced frequent power cuts. There are also a huge number of steps around the hotel and we could not find a route to our room that avoided them, which made transporting luggage difficult and could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.
Good Hotel
Staff is very caring and helpful. Excellent service ❤️
The Size of the room and the layout of the property
Nothing was at the level to carry the Name of ITC with the resort. The food costed more than JW Marriott but the quality was equal to some roadside vendor.
The rooms were dirty
The sheets were torn
The corridors had dust and dirt accumulated for some time.
No Welcome was done, the property was so dark at nights as they didnt care to even keep some lights on for easy navigation through the resort.
Also the staff was untrained and arrogant. Even after complaining or telling them the issues they replied "we are understaffed and its off season so this is the best we can do" , and what i failed to understand is that they expect you to understand their issue of being understaffed or it being the off season but they also want you to pay the whole amount for the wothless facilities and the tasteless food and to tolerate the arrogance of staff.
The worst experience of my life, i had very big expectations from the Resort as the ITC name was over it but they managed to put it to soil quite brilliantly.
I would never stay at the Storii again and i will also never ever recommend anyone to stay there.
If any fellow traveller is seeing this, please dont book your stay with Storii ITC rather spend a night in a Lodge, it might be better than the STORII ITC resort. Please DO NOT STAY AT STORII ITC JAISALMER
The hotel is very well built, it is absolutely beautiful to walk around in as well.
All of their staff is amazing, they're all so sweet, so courteous and extremely helpful. I specially loved the restaurant staff, Bharat made us delicious cocktails and the head chef made sure to come on multiple rounds to ensure everything was in order. Overall, the hospitality was spot on!
