Porto living in an historic restored guest house
Pros:

We've visited Porto a few times before so wanted a more neighborhood location with a small kitchen to make breakfast before heading out. Since it was summer, having an individual A/C unit with remote control means we can keep the room as cool as we prefer. The kitchen had a pod coffee maker and electric kettle which gave us options to make coffee and tea each day. The bed was comfortable (and quiet during the festival weekend) and the property was a lovely oasis in an area of Porto filled with historic houses. The host was very helpful and welcoming which we appreciate.

Cons:

Judge for yourself on Google Maps if the location is close enough to the tourist parts of Porto. Besides a nice walk or taking the nearby metro, Bolt and Uber makes it easy to get around. When I first found this property on Booking, I thought there were only a few rooms. However it is a much bigger property with an extension building in the back, plus a garden. So be aware when choosing a room type and comparing photos. Ours had a wall between the bedroom and bathroom which was fine with us, but there is no bathroom door. Since it's a guest house and not a hotel, there is no reception nor staff at night.

Pros:

Super friendly owners who are easily contactable, friendly and helpful. They made getting into Porto really easy and sorted out my transfer from the airport with Duarte (great man and taxi driver), who was on time and got me to the property quickly.

The property itself is very nice and the instructions for getting in were clear and easy to understand. My room was lovely, comfortable and spacious. It had everything I needed like Aircon, fridge, small appliances etc. The real cherry on top was being gifted a free bottle of home made wine upon arrival which was a really nice touch.

The place itself is a bit outside of the Centre, but this is actually quite nice as the area is quite chilled out and quieter. The centre of Porto is around 20-30 mins walk away, which is downhill and really easy to get to. You can take public transport down there if you really need to.

Overall I had a lovely stay here and want to come back again. Thanks for having me.

צ׳ק אין מאוחר וצ׳ק אאוט מוקדם, החלון פנה לגג עם כל המזגנים של הבנין, החדר עצמו לא מאורגן הכי נוח
לא היו שקעים במיקום גלוי ועוד כל מיני פרטים לא נוחים

Pros:

Rosalia was very helpful, gave us a lot of tips for the city and was always in touch. The hotel is very good looking, comfortable, has very nice terrace, we were happy about this experience

Cons:

It’s a little bit far to walk to the center but there’s a free parking area in front of the hotel which was a big advantage for a city like Porto.

Charming, very pleasant accomodation in easy reach of all the main tourist places
Pros:

The owner is charming and incredibly helpful. She made us very welcome. There were 5 of us using 3 rooms so the owner gave us 3 complementary bottles of Vinho Verde. There is a nice patio where guests can relax. The owner spent ages showing us on a map the places to visit and also one or two to avoid. We decided not to take the breakfast option but they can take breakfast to your room if you wish. The rooms had smalll, well equipped kitchenettes including a fridge and microwave. Very nicely furnished with excellent bathroom. Despite the location, the street is very pleasant and quiet. The accommodation is about 20 minutes walk to central Porto although taxis are abundant as well.

Cons:

Small point: our bed although firm, was slightly higher at the edges causing us to roll towards the middle.
