Fijne locatie midden in het centrum en warme douche
Bedden lagen echt niet lekker. In de kamer lag veel stof en viezigheid. Ook hoorde je snachts veel geluidsoverlast van de keuken en de gemeenschappelijke ruimte
This hostel is not social
I stayed here as an runner for CULTRA 2026 from 17–19 July 2026.
The property was awesome. The location is near the event area and close to everything I needed—food, water, and jajan.
To be honest, if I’m selected for the event again, I’ll most probably stay here again. Anyway, this was my second time staying here, so that should say something.
I think the whole experience was tarnished because of Room 303.
1. The room is on the 3rd floor. Walking up after the gruelling Berembun trail will make you think twice before going up and down, even for a quick smoke break.
2. I was assigned the top bunk. Wrong choice. I might be healthy, and I might be a runner, but climbing onto the bed using those tiny horizontal metal bars is mental. I could literally feel it in my brain.
3. The room has a balcony. And, being typical Malaysians, we left the balcony door open to let the cool air in. Big mistake. The noise from the bar downstairs kept interrupting our rest. I counted the birthday song being sung 10 times in one night. On top of that, the cooking smells from the restaurant downstairs—some might say wonderful, but not when you’re trying to sleep—made the experience even worse.
4. The worst part of all was the hot water. We barely had any. I think it was due to low water pressure. This is something that really shouldn’t happen. I even complained to the staff, but I guess there wasn’t much they could do. Luckily, I’m not a fan of hot showers, so I still enjoyed the super-duper cold shower. But I can only imagine how frustrating it would be for everyone else.
Niks
It’s central
Is really loudly by night for the motorbikes at the street. Doesn’t feel very social
The location was great
The beds are the worst. I thought the reviews might be a bit dramatic but they’re really just thick mats. I barely slept the first night. Wouldn’t recommend for more than two nights.
Female dorm was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful.
Social space could have been more comfortable and the kitchen was pretty limited.
The staff was very helpful and kind
It was easy to reach from the bus station and close to many restaurants, minimarket and local street food. I joined a tour offered by the hostel and it was nice. Only spent one night in the female dorm with a window. It was ok for one night. Dorms have space for large backpacks and a personal drawer easy to lock with your personal key. Also it was useful to find hand soap, hair dryer and toilet paper.
Staff was friendly and helpful in explaining all the rules and showing me around. There is a small kitchen with filtered hot and cold water available for guests and a fridge. Also they arranged a second hand corner.
You need to take off your shoes at the entrance so it is better to bring some slippers or extra socks.
The capsule bed has a socket, personal light and curtains for privacy, the mattress was ok and you get a blanket as at night is get a bit cold.
Shared bathroom in the dorms were small, they also had a shower inside and the whole floor would be wet after taking a shower.
The view from my capsule bed wasn't the best, I only saw the building across the street and lots of light entered!
