Traveller Bunker Hostel

It would have been nice to have shower gel. Door of the female dorm didn't close. Rules too strict about the hairdryer. Under the mattress there was the need for a better cleaning, but overall the place was clean.

It wasn’t super social when I was there but that could just be chance and the people who happened to be staying at that time. Also, motorbike rental is quite expensive in Cameron Highlands.
It took me three days to figure out how to use the hot water in the shower but that was my bad for not carefully reading the sign. This could be better explained at check in as other travellers I talked to also had cold showers and this is the one place in Malaysia where you want a hot shower.

Peut-être un petit peu plus de nettoyage serait apprécié, il y a beaucoup de monde donc... Et dépoussiérer les ventilateurs qui sont dans les lits pour ne pas respirer de la poussière. Sinon c'était parfait !

Le reste ! Entrée glauque, l'établissement est crado et a sérieusement besoin d'une rénovation (prévu en octobre apparemment...)
Les tables collent, la cuisine est crado, la salle tv n'est pas rangée... La rue est bruyante et les fenêtres non isolante, la salle de bain date d'une autre époque. On aime d'habitude le côté auberge de jeunesse mais là vraiment pas top. On avait prévu de passer 2 nuits, on a préféré partir. honnêtement nous avons passé 5 semaines en roadtrip et c'est notre moins bonne expérience.

Vivement la rénovation !

Bedden lagen echt niet lekker. In de kamer lag veel stof en viezigheid. Ook hoorde je snachts veel geluidsoverlast van de keuken en de gemeenschappelijke ruimte

This hostel is not social

I think the whole experience was tarnished because of Room 303.

1. The room is on the 3rd floor. Walking up after the gruelling Berembun trail will make you think twice before going up and down, even for a quick smoke break.

2. I was assigned the top bunk. Wrong choice. I might be healthy, and I might be a runner, but climbing onto the bed using those tiny horizontal metal bars is mental. I could literally feel it in my brain.

3. The room has a balcony. And, being typical Malaysians, we left the balcony door open to let the cool air in. Big mistake. The noise from the bar downstairs kept interrupting our rest. I counted the birthday song being sung 10 times in one night. On top of that, the cooking smells from the restaurant downstairs—some might say wonderful, but not when you’re trying to sleep—made the experience even worse.

4. The worst part of all was the hot water. We barely had any. I think it was due to low water pressure. This is something that really shouldn’t happen. I even complained to the staff, but I guess there wasn’t much they could do. Luckily, I’m not a fan of hot showers, so I still enjoyed the super-duper cold shower. But I can only imagine how frustrating it would be for everyone else.
