Pros:

The location is great. It is very reasonably priced. Some reviews were terrible but you can't expect too much for the price. It was old but our room was clean.

Cons:

There are no staff but the self service booking system worked. I had to pay $10 extra for a cot which was not in the room.

Pros:

Good location with a tram out front that takes you right to Melbourne Central. Good for students & maybe an over night.. 2 nights was enough for us... it's very well used..

Cons:

Mattress so old & sunk everywhere. Seating was a rock hard lounge . It's self check in & out. Bit $$ for what it was..

Car space were not available when we arrived at 6pm. This place is like staying at the cross in Sydney. Nowhere to unload the car.

Cheap and cheerful.
Pros:

The location was good, very close to Southern Cross Station and it was very quiet, given there were trams and traffic below.

Cons:

The hotel is quite old so the carpet and benchtops need replacing. The light didn't work in our bathroom but it was promptly fixed and we had a problem with the cooktop but that was also fixed.

Not great.
Pros:

Size was ok.

Cons:

Apartment very basic and needed a revamp.
Not a nice smell when you walked into the building.
Beds not very comfortable and no privacy for those staying in the room on top of the stairs.
Hot water was discoloured.
Very cold, storage heaters didn’t do much then had sheets and blankets that were worn. To top it off a few days in on the day of my brothers wedding we found cockroaches on the kitchen which was very stressful to then have to move rooms. Was not helped by having no reception on the desk ever and always having to call up even just to ask for more towels. The state of the property made it more stressful especially for 5 people all staying together and would not stay in this accomodation again. I have stayed in better hostels travelling.

It was ok, pretty basic but served our needs

location was good near station and near tram lines, so easy to use that as a base to look around city

Decent little place
Pros:

Great location. Room was spacious & clean. Whilst the decor was dated it was very comfortable, had a home away from home feel. The shower had great pressure. Heating & cooling was perfect for us. Appreciated the extra pillows & blankets. Would definately recommend & will stay again.

Cons:

Our room stated it was a city view however we didnt get that, instead a wall/side if a building COVERED in bird poo. Because no staff were on site we couldn't complain, however when checking out we did see a staff member in the office who we mentioned it to who told us the electronic check in just selects a room for you & they offered to help us with a better view next time we book. Street noise was a problem the first night & people do reside there it a bit off putting walking out the room one moment to the stench of mothballs & when checking out there was an overwhelming odour of marijuana...not a good thing when travelling with kids & certainly not the hotel's fault.
