This is a great option for an overnight stop if walking the Cambrian Way. It's a couple of miles off the route, but buses run regularly if you want to save your legs for the hills! Friendly and welcoming hosts, and the bunkhouse would accommodate a group of 11, in three rooms each with three bunks, plus a double. There are also hotel rooms above the bar. The accommodation is next to the outdoor seating area for the bar and live music venue, so it could be a fun evening if there's music on. We stayed on a Wednesday evening, and all was quiet.
Very good showering facilities and excellent hostessing
Hard to park..code entries to premises and room
Very nice location with in the community. Also very quiet and spacious.
1️⃣Lovely staff. The owner is a very friendly gentle lady. She adjusted our booking mistake to include our children. Her daughter was very helpful and polite. She took us in a tour through the cozy bar and hotel.
2️⃣The location is perfect for those interested in hiking. Close to Cwmcarn national forest and Twmberlwm summit. Close to st Mary and st Mercurios coptic orthodox church.
3️⃣ good value for price.
1️⃣they donot offer food or meals at all in the bar. And you are not allowed to eat in room if got a delivery. At the same time you cannot eat at the backyard if it is raining.
2️⃣very small rooms.
3️⃣rooms has no window at all. Not good ventilation
This was a lovely little inn in such a lovely little town, perfect for my getaway weekend from London. Anjas warm welcome and hospitality made me feel safe from the start as a solo female-traveler. I never had time to check out the pub but understand they're also running events there from time to time. Would highly recommend!
This place had a vibe that you just can't get everywhere. A unique style of old building class mixed with ultra stylish urban art. I myself am a huge graffiti art fan and this place has been tastefully hit with beautiful murals. The bunkhouse has an industrial modern metro city hotel style and feel. Basic but more than adequate for your needs. They also sometimes host events at the pub which if you like the music/festival nights then you will absolutely love this. We did!!! A soundstage and interior visuals that literally will move you. Epic!!
The staff.. what can I say about the staff. The energy and friendly warm welcome from everyone on arrival was an instant attraction. The whole 2 day stay we literally felt like locals. Very Helpful staff, for example, we asked for somewhere to dry our wet riding clothes and were instantly handed the flashest electric clothes airer thing. It did just the job. It really was great to meet everyone. I will definitely be back when staying in wales for any Riding trips.
Nothing. Only that I had to leave....
Nothing
I booked 3 nights but only stayed one. The room was an outside block
made chipboard rooms with dirty cold quarry tiles. The bed was disgusting with old mismatched bedding and 2 old mattresses on top of each other. The shared bathroom was in a old stable block with one tin sink in the middle no privacy. Showers were rusty. No areas to put toiletries. A door that kept banging. Its was open mic night and so loud in the rooms.
I asked for a partial refund but was refused. Also no car park and very little on road parking as locals use the spaces. NIGHTMARE
Let down as no parking
The room was nice a bit awkward to fill the kettle and no spoons for tea
Staff were immediately so friendly and welcoming and the facilities were very attractive and functional. We arrived on a cold weekend for rock climbing and were very pleased the heating was so decent, helping us to relax with ease.
The only thing that we think could be improved slightly was the mattress quality (too soft for us personally) and room ventilation but other than that we would def stay again.
Clean, warm and welcoming. No complaints at all.
Nothing. Really good setup. Probably a nightmare for anyone older or with a disability as it's all steps and hills (and bunk beds), but those issues probably apply to any old hotel in the valleys.
