Sweltering hot, noisy and horrible!

Cons:

This was THE MOST horrible experience BAR NONE I have ever had while traveling through Germany. We booked the room as a stop-over driving from Croatia back to Denmark. After driving for 12 hours, we where really tired, and looked forward to relax and get some sleep, to be ready for the rest of the drive the following day. Unfortunately that was not to be. We arrived at 9 in the evening, and had to leave again around midnight.

The room was sweltering hot, and there was no way to cool it. Of course it is not possible to control the weather, but the room being directly in the sun all day, with the windows closed, doesn't help. There was no air-condition or fan provided.

There was some sort of town party going on opposite the Gasthof. That meant loud music, people screaming and jeering in the streets, cars and motorcycles revving their engines loudly directly outside the house. So we couldn't open the windows either.

Even with the windows closed, we where able to hear the sounds quite loudly, including those from other guests slamming doors and windows in the building.

After trying to sleep for 1½ hours in 30 degrees and extreme noise, and all four of us failing to do so, we chose to leave and start the rest of the journey, with all the risk that includes when driving sleep-impaired. It was THAT horrible! But we weren't going to get any sleep either way, so might as well drive.

Ideas: Air the room before guest arrive when it's really hot. Install air-con if possible, if not provide fans in each room. Warn guests by email before arriving if an extraordinary amount of noise is expected, so they are able to make other arrangements if that doesn't suit them.
