Based on local tax laws, guests with a tourist visa to Israel are exempted from paying VAT for their reservation. Israeli citizens and residents ("non tourists" as defined in the VAT law) must pay VAT. This tax is automatically calculated in the total cost of the reservation for domestic customers. For guests booking from outside of Israel, the tax is not included in the total price.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning design, lovely rooms, and great facilities. We also really enjoyed the food — breakfast was excellent, with high-quality ingredients and delicious options throughout.
The service was disappointing and did not feel five-star. Aside from the receptionist who welcomed us on arrival, we found many staff members at reception, breakfast, and the pool to be unfriendly and not particularly service-oriented.
We were also frustrated by the lack of clarity around certain policies. Breakfast is not included, which was not made particularly clear when booking, and while children are welcome at the hotel, they are not allowed in the pool—something that should be communicated much more clearly in advance.
In addition, maintenance and cleanliness were not quite at the level we would expect from a luxury hotel. The overall impression was that more attention could be paid to the small details that elevate a stay from good to exceptional.
