Great staff. Great location. Nice building
Pros:

Breakfast was good but service took too long. 8:00 am is breakfast time and should not be so long more staff was needed and they only came at 9.

Cons:

Slow service
Nespresso machine in the room didn’t work!! We wanted morning coffee before having breakfast downstairs where we still hd to wait 15 min for coffee

Our key cards didn’t work multiple times, the checkin staff charged the wrong card for our room stay and in general the

The jr suite was very large. The shower was huge.

Cons:

The rooms at the front of the building are not conducive to sleep. The street noise and construction site across the street starts at 7:30. Clanging of steel rods, construction vehicles backing up makes the sound ten times louder than an alarm and the general traffic - even on the fifth floor - are like sleeping outside. If you stay at the side/back of the hotel you get a lovely view of people smoking crack.

Charming Comfoable Hotel in a Historic setting in the heart of the Old Port
Pros:

Charming property in old Montreal , very easy walking to the many shops and restaurants in old port , but also close to the Metro so it was easy to explore the Downtown . Quiet and spacious rooms , friendly staff that was always helpful and accommodating

We had a fabulous trip with our granddaughter - and Hotel Place d'Armes made it extra special!
Pros:

Friendliness and competence of staff - above and beyond, especially Ricardo and Diego. Location was terrific.

Cons:

Room was fine but not outstanding. Price was on the high side.
