Perfect for an overnight stay
Pros:

Friendly welcome and a good location for the train station and the Cricket ground. Incredibly hot the night I stayed, a fan was provided in the room and windows could be opened and the fridge was a god send for cold drinks. Shower was easy to use, plenty of towels provided and bed was comfy.

Cons:

The heat but not much the hotel could do about that.

Very convenient for the station
Pros:

Plenty of hooks and racks to dry everything on a very wet day! Rooms are basic but have everything you need for an overnight stay.

Cons:

The shower was very difficult to set, boiling hot then cold. I almost gave up on trying to use the couple of seconds in between each cycle, but it did settle down eventually.

Pros:

Taunton is a nice old history and community

Cons:

There is no car parking hotel. The hotel is an old building with no fresh air. Our room was a damp wall

Pros:

Staff were friendly and very helpful. They allowed us to leave our suitcase and belongings there safely with staff precece at all times during the day so we could enjoy rest of day before we checked in or when we had to go back home .. we also had use of the shared kitchen and could fill our empty water bottles up without buying bottles of water.

Cons:

There was nothing to unlike about this place . As i been here at least 3 or 4 times in the past staying here . . I slways rate this hotel as good place to stay. When I come down to taunton.

Pros:

Close to cricket ground , receptionist was very helpful

Cons:

Three of the four Electrical sockets not working.
When using kettle the trip switch went putting us in darkness . The receptionist was very helpful and made us coffee as we could not use the kettle . Small shower

Good value and quite acceptable for a solo traveller like me who only needed a bed and shower.
Pros:

The room was clean and had the usual, basic hotel services I would expect to find, including an en-suite shower room/WC. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly and overall, it was reasonable value for the price for such a central location.

Cons:

The shower initially belted out very hot water before I adjusted it. This would have scalded me if I hadn't half expected this problem from previous hotel experiences. No car parking on site was a nuisance but a long term car park a few minutes walk away sorted out that problem. I expected that no air con might be a problem in the very hot weather I experienced but in practice the room was cool and I could sleep easily. However, having air con would of course have been better.
