Lovely setting
The whole experience , old property but up to date and the lake
The cabin was 1 mile from the runway at Stansted and in final approach which is not mentioned in advert. Planes landing from 6am to 2.30am every 2 mins. We could not sleep and the noise was deafening, you could not do anything. Also clearly the cabin had not been checked as the fire alarm started on the 2nd morning and could not be turned off and we were moved to a room across the road just to sleep in. Also the remote from the tv was dead and the shower head was broken.
Only 10 minutes from Stansted Airport, which was great fir our early flight. We have stayed here before, again flying from Stansted, and loved it. The hotel is lovely and everything about the rooms, facilities and location are great. The restaurant overlooking the lake is especially worth noting. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, close to the airport but obviously loud planes are unavoidable. The brekkie was 10/10 and the lady at breakfast went above and beyond I’m gutted I didn’t catch her name!
The parking is £10 per day not £5 which I was told and the guy at the desk was being unnecessarily difficult but did help
I didn’t realise when booking that our rooms were not in the hotel but a converted old barn across the road. We were told we had to leave our car in the car park and walk across the road but when I explained we were leaving at 4am they did allow us to park near the room. The room was pleasant and clean
When the people in the room behind us used the bathroom you could hear everything.
Whilst I appreciate the hotel was within 5 miles of the airport, no where in the description does it explain that there is no sound proofing therefore every 10 mins as a plane goes over the noise is so bad you can hardly hear each other talk and the room shakes. In fact I’ve stayed at hotels at the actual airport which have less noise from planes than this hotel.
We had a stop over at Hallingbury Manor before early flight next day. The manor and grounds are beautiful. The restaurant was perfect. Great menu & staff very attentive. Lovely spotless room. Very affordable. We will be back.
Veldig fornøyd med oppholdet. Personallet var profesjonell, hyggelig og svært hjelpsom. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake og anbefaler stedet på det varmeste! Hotellet var koselig og lå i et veldig fint område.
Hotellet hadde ikke aicondition, det var litt varmt.
Great location close to Stansted Airport. Room was small but sufficient. Comfortable bed. Good restaurant on site. Parking was reasonable.
It was noisy! My room was at the top of the stairs by reception so there were people coming & going. Not great with a 3.30 alarm!

I was told on arrival that I needed to pay, I told the receptionist i had already paid earlier via booking.com but was told I hadn’t. So I paid again, but then I had already paid so had to go and sort this the following morning with reception. We also parked our car there for the night, wasn’t told we needed to register it at reception, only for weeks later to get a parking ticket from an external company. Called the hotel and they advised they would sort….weeks later….get another letter advising the tickets needs to be paid! It has (hopefully) been sorted now but not stress we need when we booked an airport hotel with parking for a reason!

Morning receptionist not polite, communication not the best
We enjoyed contact with the receptionist he was very welcoming and spent time talking to us. The restaurant staff were also very nice and helpful.
The place was very peaceful and different to a usual hotel chain, rabbits in the garden and we could sit outside watch the planes coming into land right over head.
The restaurant garden and fountain created a relaxing atmosphere.
There was no air conditioning and the one fan in the room was insufficient for a warm night, it was not possible to have the door closed and had to risk leaving it open for fresh air, being in a quiet location this reduced the risk.
Breakfast was not included in the cost of the room.
