Staff very helpful and friendly, nice location. Evening meal was fine. Comfy bed , good bathroom .
.
Road leading to the hotel could do with a bit of repair.
Views.
Getting there and terrible drive surface.
Short stay only bed and breakfast but one of the best places I've stayed ever. The photos on here dont to the place justice, it amazing with views to match
Friendly and helpful staff. actually, they couldn't have been more helpful - lovely people.
Sunday morning really awful with hotel overrun by massive church group. Car parking nightmare - they had blocked us in and we couldn't leave for 25 minutes. Made us late for our next event. Some apologies from them but really not a good experience.
Hotel drive had lots of holes - lucky we weren't in a Ferrari.
Stunning location, absolutely beautiful building and setting. Staff were very friendly and manager was a star ,going above and beyond. Will definitely be back .Very satisfied only wished we had longer ,very clean and tidy .
I liked the grounds very much to walk in and meditate in and do Tai Chi, thank you.
I don’t like Tetley’s tea thank you so I didn’t drink the tea on offer in the room just had a few glasses of water from the bathroom tap.
And the downstairs gentleman’s loo was out of order when I arrived, I used the disabled loo and the lock wasn’t working I think.
Surprisingly charming hotel deep in the Devon countryside. It is tucked away and many locals don't know about it. Travel via Ide, and lunch at the Huntsman a real country pub. Very big room and full bathroom. The hotel has a lovely garden, huge old trees and big views across the Devonshire countryside. Helpful staff.
Although it is 'dog friendly', dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and can only be in certain guest rooms and there were none during our short visit. This would be a good base for a longer trip - affordable, easy access to Exeter and surrounding areas.
Breakfast had a wide variety on offer. Attentive staff.
It is an historic building so no lift, which was difficult with injured foot at the time.
Rust
Route er naar toe
Beautiful location and large room
No air con room was stifling hot, I had to go out and sleep on the lawn for part of the night. It was unbearable.
Perfect.
Location- beautiful
Friendly staff
Tv didn’t work and shower was poor
Lovely big rooms, beautiful views, friendly staff. Fans provided which was an added bonus in the current heat.
The drive to the hotel is through narrow country lanes with large hills and hidden bends... not easy when pitch black, wish I'd researched the area a little more before booking.
The building was lovely. It was in a very scenic, rural area.
I was disappointed between the difference of the two rooms I booked as I could not book two rooms the same. The standard room was very dated (and felt a bit unloved) and not nearly as well finished off as the other room. The hotel was incredibly hot (and yes it was during the extreme heat wave).
Unique local feel and beautiful surroundings.
Quite difficult to get there due to the narrow and dated road, also we stayed there during the summer heat wave, it was quite challenging as one small fan per room didn’t help.
Staff breakfast and room
Was brilliant
Very old and characterful
Out in the country
Rather faded around the edges
Looked like it needed a bit more tlc
Belle chambre
Restauration pas très professionnelle
