Throughout our travels, we thought we knew what refinement and exceptional hospitality looked like. We were wrong and we can honestly say that places like this are incredibly rare.

First, we want to thank Madalina, the hotel manager. She is, without a doubt, one of the main reasons this hotel is so extraordinary. We have never experienced such a level of dedication, attention and genuine care.
From sunrise until late in the night, she was always present near the guests and not behind a desk, checking on every guest, anticipating every need and making everyone feel truly special. She waits until the last guest has gone to bed before leaving. She goes one step further with every demand, always finding a way to exceed expectations.
Her professionalism, elegance and leadership are worthy of the finest luxury hotels in the world. Yet what impressed us the most was how personal and heartfelt everything felt. She remembers names, notices the smallest details, anticipates guests’ wishes before they even have to ask, and creates an atmosphere where everyone feels unique.
Nowhere have we experienced such a personalized, genuine and sincere level of service.

Madalina doesn’t just manage a hotel, she defines what true hospitality should be, and every day became even more memorable thanks to the incredible team.

My wife and I stayed at Passion Boutique Hotel for our honeymoon, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better hotel for such a special trip. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every small detail had been thought through — the hotel, the amenities, the room, all exceptional. It genuinely made the whole stay unforgettable.

The service from the entire staff is the best we’ve ever experienced. They know every guest, and more than that, they learn what you like and your taste, so the recommendations you get every single day are spot on. Madalina, the manager, is on top of absolutely everything and is available 24/7 — whether it was booking a day trip, telling us where to go in Jambiani, putting together a to-go box at 1am, or arranging a special dinner on the beach. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

The restaurant deserves its own mention — amazing food, with 4-5 specials per meal so you can keep trying new things every day. Everything is fresh, and it was without a doubt the best food we had anywhere in Zanzibar. It’s so good that people staying at nearby hotels come by just to eat there.

And then there’s the beach — a quiet stretch right in front of the hotel, with beautiful spots you can walk to nearby.

We also spent time in Nungwi during our trip, and even though every blog out there pushes Nungwi as the place to stay, we can say with confidence that Jambiani is so much better. It’s not overpriced, the quality is better, locals give you your space, and the scenery is simply stunning.

A hotel is not only a bed and a restaurant. The real good ones have a soul and a spirit. We loved every minute in this small and cozy hotel. Madalina and her team has taken care of us in the best possible way. If you are looking for a calm, beautiful hotel that offers delicious food at a very fair price, the Passion Boutique Hotel is the place to go.

El hotel es precioso y tiene un increíble mantenimiento que aún teniendo 5 años parece que se construyó ayer. Toda la madera se nota que se ha barnizado continuamente pues no parece que le afecte el tiempo. La piscina se limpiaba cada mañana a las 7 am y en general todo está impoluto.

Pero esto lo puedes encontrar en otros hoteles de 5*, pero lo que de verdad hizo nuestra estancia fuera una de las mejores de nuestra vida fueron el SERVICIO y la COMIDA.

Empezando por el servicio, nuestras felicitaciones a Mandalina y su equipo. Realmente habéis dado sentido a lo que significa un boutique hotel: trato extremadamente personalizado y detallista. No eres un simple huésped haciendo un check-in y un check-out, cuidan de ti como si estuvieras en casa. Por ejemplo, nos trajeron medicinas de una farmacia sin tener que desplazarnos, organizaron todos los traslados, experiencias únicas para nuestra luna de miel, cuando nos faltaba agua en la mesa nos la servían, barrían el suelo de arena cada 10 minutos para que se viera siempre impoluto el hotel. Y lo mejor es que siempre el staff lo hacía con una sonrisa. Todos son super amables y serviciales a niveles que pocas veces ves.

Por último la comida. Podemos decir que probamos casi todo el menú durante las 5 noches que estuvimos y no encontramos nada que no nos gustara, intentamos ir a comer fuera algún día pero siempre preferíamos quedarnos en el hotel para probar los platos del día. Además se adaptaron a las intolerancias alimentarias que teníamos. Tienen un menú con muchas opciones siempre disponibles y además, cada día añaden 3-4 opciones al menú durante 24h. Imposible probarlo todo!!

Madalina ist einfach großartig – sie macht wirklich alles möglich und hat für jedes Anliegen eine Lösung. Man hat das Gefühl, dass für sie nichts unmöglich ist. Auch das gesamte Team ist hervorragend: unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Dadurch fühlt man sich vom ersten Moment an rundum wohl.
Das Frühstück war hervorragend – frisch, vielfältig und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Auch das Essen im hauseigenen Restaurant war ausgezeichnet und hat den Aufenthalt kulinarisch perfekt abgerundet.
Wir können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!
Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt: Ich war etwas enttäuscht, weil ich davon ausgegangen bin, dass man aufgrund der direkten Lage am Meer auch dort baden kann. Durch die Gezeiten (Ebbe und Flut) ist das Wasser dort jedoch häufig aufgewühlt und daher nicht wirklich zum Baden oder Schwimmen geeignet. Dies liegt natürlich an den natürlichen Gegebenheiten vor Ort und nicht am Hotel.

Where do I even begin?

The moment we arrived in Zanzibar and checked in at Passion, we immediately felt at home. The hotel is small and intimate, which means you really get to know the entire team (and they get to know you as well). The service is truly 10 out of 10; you are completely spoiled from start to finish.

They think of absolutely everything. Is someone celebrating a birthday? You get a cake. Relaxing on your beach lounger? A bottle of water is brought to you. Have you made a reservation at a restaurant? They arrange a taxi for you. Although, to be honest, there’s hardly any reason to leave because the restaurant here is fantastic! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and cocktails, everything is absolutely delicious.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and feel both stylish and luxurious. We stayed in the budget room, but calling it a budget room almost feels wrong, it was stunning!

We originally stayed here for three nights before moving to another accommodation for a few more nights. Unfortunately, that stay wasn’t what we had hoped for and luckily we were able to return to Passion for another two nights. It was the perfect way to end our trip.

We are incredibly grateful to Madaline and the entire team for making our stay so special. ❤️

Our stay at Passion Boutique Hotel in Jambiani was absolutely breathtaking and incredibly relaxing. From the very first moment, we felt that every little detail had been carefully thought through. The property and the rooms are stunning, beautifully designed and decorated with so much love and style. Everything is spotless at all times and the location right by the ocean is truly magical.

The staff are exceptional — incredibly attentive, warm and always welcoming with a smile. They go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels comfortable and it truly feels like every wish is taken care of before you even have to ask.

We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant every evening and were impressed by the variety of dishes, the freshness of the ingredients, the excellent quality and the genuine kindness of the entire team.

Nothing was missing during our stay and we would wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful place to anyone looking for a peaceful, stylish and unforgettable experience in Zanzibar.

Man kann dieses Hotel wirklich nur empfehlen!! Ich kenne viele 5-Stern-Hotels in Lateinamerika, Thailand und Indonesien.. aber dieses PASSION BOUTIQUE HOTEL hat alles übertroffen! Die Hoteldirektorin Madalina und ihr tolles Team erfüllen jeden Wunsch noch bevor er ausgesprochen ist. Die Qualität und die Präsentation der Gerichte muss sich vor keinem Michelin- oder Gault-Millau-Sternekoch verstecken! Einfach nur toll!!!

One of the best stays in all over the world

Un hôtel parfaitement adapté aux calme et à l'intimité recherchés, avec cette vue si agréable sur l'océan et les pirogues des pêcheurs que ce soit depuis la large baie vitrée de la chambre, sa terrasse, ou depuis celle du restaurant.
Une chambre vraiment spacieuse et aménagée avec beaucoup de goût, mêlant le contemporain au local.
Des plats succulents absolument bien servis.

The hotel was selected for its rating, and during our stay we felt each aspect of the effecient hotel management. Stylish, beautifully decorated and good quality facilities including building itself, furniture, mattress (which is a problem is many island hotels) , flooring, swimming pool. Very nice and friendly staff is attentive to every detail. This is the most important. They do their best. The hotel restaurant is another hightlight. We felt a pity that stayed only 2 overnights and were not able to try everything from the menu. The Chef is master, and it became evident during breakfast and dinner times, when the restaurant was occupied by both hotel guests and external visitors. Veggy and meat options are of fantactic taste and no compromise to the quality. Good wine list. Pricewise the food and drinks were almost nothing comparing to European or Middle East hotels.
Regardless the size of the hotel, it was enough space for everyone. The rooms are very cozy, very clean and fresh. Qutstanding quality of supplies like shampoo, coconut body lotion, bath salt.
The hotel is a hidden gem in this area and not only. The Jozani park with lovely red colubus species is not far. Also recommded visiting for animal lovers.
On our arrival we had a very nice surprise as upgrade ftom budget room to the best one, and this gesture definitely made our holidays up.
