Pros:

Nice place and a lovely building.

Cons:

I was disappointed that our room was not cleaned or made between days. Normally in Hotels that is done. It was not a BnB. Breakfast was a bit crazy on day 2 with the lady who was lovely being onshore staffed.

Unique friendly getaway
Pros:

The property was quite unique and quirky. Michelle did an excellent job with dinner, bar service and breakfast. Super friendly and helpful.

Cons:

A hair dryer in the room would be good as most places provide that now. A bit better signage in the lane and maybe report to Google maps that they have the entrance in the wrong spot - it’s actually further down the lane then Google says it is.

Excellent a stay not to be missed
Pros:

The whole property was incredible, its location was secluded and peaceful, the original features dating back centuries were restored to the very last detail, the room was large and comfortable and the couple who ran the property were so friendly and had a extensive knowledge of the full history of the property, the food was excellent, all home made and well presented. We stopped on the weekend of the 4th of July but have already began to plan our next trip to the area and will defiantly staying here and would recommend this property to anyone who asks, it will not disappoint.

Very enjoyable Michelle is a super host
Pros:

Spacious, plenty of choice to relax in and space to wander outside

Cons:

The standard of furnishings and finishing detail is lower than expected ie coat hanger props only opening window. Only 1 comfy chair in room soft furnishings in large lounge a bit tired -dining area more cafe than dining. However as dogs are welcome this has to be taken into account more admittedly-Initial look is good but closer look let’s it down a little. However it’s early days. Michelle could not have done more or been more welcoming and her food was obviously home cooked - very enjoyable - we very much enjoyed our stay but think it’s a little higher priced than warranted. 🙂.

Not a great stay
Pros:

Our room faced the bins and we had noise every morning with no view. A big disappointment when nature was the point of the stay.

Cons:

We did not like the food very much. Breakfast was minimal and staff was much more preoccupied by preparing the restaurant for the huge lunch parties the hotel had ( 50- 80 plus people) coming in on coaches - than serving us. Not a good experience. Also there was a very poor choice of food options. The minimal standard fair - neither healthy nor fresh. The hotel needs modernising and the menus updating to more healthy options. We were disappointed and would have expected more for the money we paid.

We enjoyed our two nights here and would return if in the area again. Michelle was a wonderful hostess and she is a grea
Pros:

The property is very old, full of character, beautifully decorated and situated high on a hill, up a very narrow road.
It is full of history, from the days of Oliver Cromwell to Jacqui Kennedy staying here to attend the funeral of Lord Harlech. It is in a wonderful position for exploring walks, castles and steam trains. Also, Portmerion is just down the road a short distance.

Cons:

Not much to dislike. The renovation work on the property is still in progress, no time yet to put the final touches on the grounds…, Such things as putting weed killer down to get rid of the weeds in the parting area and up the driveway. At some point just to put the fishing touches to edging etc. perhaps also a smart, printed sign from the cat park to show people the correct way in to the house.
This sounds picky but that isn’t the intention, just a few pointers to add to the beautiful house and ambience created by Michelle.
I do feel that more of the breakfast should have been included in the price.
