Beautiful outside, Frustrating on the Inside

The look out is magnificent.

Cons:

Bathroom had a lot of mould.
Room was really uncomfortable. Door banged against the bed. Couldn't pass each other the space was very small.
The meat at the braai was not well done and when I asked well done it was over cooked. Quality of meat wasn't good. Quite pricey for what we got.

We had a truly lovely stay at Monte Crous Hotel, Restaurant and Venue. The setting is beautiful, with scenic views, a lush garden, and a swimming pool overlooking the surrounding landscape. Our room was comfortable, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed, with a private bathroom, balcony, and all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay.

The dining experience was a standout. The food was exceptional — the seafood, steak, and curry were all outstanding and clearly prepared with care and attention to quality. Breakfast was equally impressive and an absolute highlight, served at the gazebo overlooking the dam. It was a peaceful and memorable way to start the day, with great food and stunning views.

The restaurant offers a warm, romantic atmosphere while still being family-friendly, and the outdoor dining areas add to the overall charm. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome throughout our visit.

With its convenient location near the Vanderkloof Dam and nearby nature reserve, Monte Crous is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with beautiful scenery, excellent food, and great service. We would happily return and highly recommend it.

We had an amazing overnight experience at the hotel and would highly recommend this property.
Pros:

We had dinner out on the veranda overlooking the lake. The view was spectacular, the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly.

Cons:

The cocktails we had were a bit bland.

Maybe include water in the fridge.. was hit when we arrived.. bar was closed.. couldn't order cold beverages
