Bathroom was a bit on the small side, but it is an old building so appreciate that the size matches the building layout.
I loved the bath it was a lovely addition to the room. The hotel was close to all the shops and was very clean.

Excellent breakfast. The hotel is right in the middle of York so is ideal for shopping in The Shambles
Location fab. Only 10 mins walk from station. Both breakfast and dinner was lovely.
Window didn’t open in the room
It had so many fabulous features, original beams, etc. really quirky.
There wasn’t a lift, but the stairs weren’t too bad.

Breakfast was not good - don’t know why as everyone else’s looked good but mine had either been Sat a long tome and cooked twice
You couldn't ask for a better location, staff lovely and breakfast excellent
Didn't like the room, it was small which wasn't a problem for 2 nights,however the window was all frosted and you couldn't see outside. It felt very claustrophobic, it was very warm as no windows opened, even in the bathroom.
We did have a fan. The room wasn't serviced after the first night. We did tell the girl on reception and asked if could we have some milk, but still none when we got back,had to go and ask again.
The en suite was just not practical, no shelf to put our toiletries etc on, no room on the sink, no towel rail they had to go on the floor or toilet when closed.
The worst was nowhere to put the shampoo/ shower gel in the shower. All these things would greatly improve the stay

Fantastic stay in a beautiful hotel with so much character in the very centre of York. Great location… added benefit of a restaurant and bar downstairs. Clean, great bed and bedding for a good nights gets sleep. Lovely staff … thankyou for a great stay.
Nothing… everything Just brilliant!!
The bedrooms were gorgeous and so cosy! Everything was clean and tidy. In the room there was a cute book detailing everything and gave great suggestions on what to do during our stay! For the price, we got breakfast included which was amazing! Could not recommend this place enough. We also had such a lovely receptionist and helped us with everything :)
The only negative was the room was slightly hot but the staff provided us with a fan. It was a hot day so nothing to do with the actual property!
