Breakfast, nice staff, clean room
Bathroom was a little small but managed as only did one night

The location is perfect. Right in the city centre with the Minster only a 30 second walk away.
The bathroom in my room was slightly small. Especially the shower.

Staff were absolutely brilliant! Dave (GM) attentive, flexible and sorted out a couple of issues on the spot. Location is obviously big selling point but I have to say breakfast was one of best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had
It’s an old building (obviously) so accessibility not great. Also even in mid/high 20s centigrade rooms were very hot and little fan on all night didn’t cut it !

Very hot room was aware listed building snd no aircon but will request a better located room on my next visit
location was excellent, breakfast was delicious and great value. We went there for an anniversary and there was a lovely plate of chocolates with "happy Anniversary" on it, room was lovely and good view out to the refectory and gardens behind
Things were just a bit inconsistent e.g we were not offered juice at the breakfast on the second day, nothing was replenished in our room on the second day and no shampoo, I had to ask for it. the only real issue was there was no where to put towels in the bath room, it really needs a towel holder and there is plenty of room for one

The bed was uncomfortable
Staff were welcoming and friendly breakfast choice was excellent cooked fresh great location. The forest restaurant was fabulous for evening meal. Highly recommend for a place to stay beds comfortable

Room was very comfortable and clean.
A couple of hooks in the bathroom too hang towels and a mirror in the bedroom as well as the bathroom . Although the staff did find me a second when I raised it with them.
Lovely little hotel right in the heart of town. Staff were fantastic, Rose in particular was incredibly helpful.

Worth bearing in mind, parking is a ten minute walk away, but understandable considering the v central location.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable about York and are approachable. Don't be afraid to ask.The food was of a high standard. Breakfast was included and probably the best I've ever had. The eggs Benedict should be recommended. The location is one of the best near the Cathedral and the Shambles . The rooms are very clean and bathrooms have everything you'd need . Tea and coffee making facilities are in rooms. Well stocked.
Unfortunately, due to the extreme heat, our room was stiffling. A fan was supplied but as it's a beautiful Georgian building, the sash windows are fixed solid allowing no airflow so it was overbearing when trying to sleep. I should imagine in normal conditions, it would be fine. The wife had one little issue. Mirrors in the room but no sockets near to dry her hair but that's being picky.
It was quirky.
The room had a small window with no blind. It was shabby. Not enough towels or a bath mat.
