Pros:

Il borgo molto bello, personale accogliente e gentile. Stanza davvero molto vintage ma con tutto l'occorrente .

Cons:

Purtroppo camera con bagno sporco e brutto odore. Per una notte è andata bene ma da rivedere pulizia e sanitari che sono macchiati.

The Albergo Diffuso is right on the edge of the old town of Castiglione di Sicilia, in a cluster of houses restored by the owner, Valentino. We were glad we chose this town as our base, it's a bit of a time capsule, genuinely beautiful, with a lot of it still abandoned, which in its own way tells the story of Sicily.
Our house had everything we needed: air conditioning, plenty of space for the four of us, and a lovely terrace all to ourselves where we spent our evenings. Everything is a little rustic and VINTAGE, nothing flashy, but that's exactly what gives the place its charm.
Beyond the rooms, the people really make this place. Ask Valentino about his many projects and stories. Discuss with Giuseppe the roads and parking options. And lovely Michelle always attentive and helpful. The breakfast they serve is very sweet. Cakes made by the mother and lemons picked from their own tree. If you are looking for comfort, fake pretty and paved everywhere go to Taormina with the rest of the crowd. If you want to experience a slice of authentic Sicily come here.
Nearby town of Randazzo and Linguaglossa - both are worth a visit, though we were glad to have based ourselves In Castiglione instead.
Highly recommend wandering the town itself: see the church, castle up on the rock, the Norman tower, and don't miss Bar Trefiletti for a granita, the best you'll find anywhere.
This is a town that hasn't been discovered by tourists too much yet, but it's a gem.

Pros:

Foi uma experiência bastante interessante ficar hospedada em um Borgo. Como estávamos de carro, passamos o dia em Taormina e após, dormimos em Casteglione di Sicília para que no dia seguinte pudéssemos desbravar o Etna. As instalações eram confortáveis e o café da manhã foi bom.

Did not stay the night because of the filth, was still charged.

Case has to be reported to the authorities as owner is not willing to cooperate.

We booked this property through Booking.com using the “pay at property” option. When we arrived, the host asked us to pay by card.

Unfortunately, the room we were given was in an unacceptable condition and did not match what we expected from the photos and reviews on Booking.com.

The host who showed us the room did not speak English, so we contacted the owner by phone. We left the room almost immediately and went into town, leaving only a small handbag inside because we did not want to stay there.

Around five minutes after arriving, I messaged the owner explaining the problems and asked to cancel the stay and receive a refund. He initially claimed that we had used the room, which we strongly disagreed with. He then offered to show us another room, and we agreed to take a look.

The second room was also not acceptable. We recorded videos showing its condition and immediately sent them to the owner. After seeing the videos, the owner called us and told us to find somewhere else to stay and said that he would refund our payment within 24 hours. We have a recording of this conversation.

However, after we had left the property, he changed his position and messaged us saying that we would not receive the refund.

The whole experience was extremely frustrating and very different from what we expected based on the Booking.com listing.

I would strongly recommend seeing the actual room before paying and not relying solely on the photos or reviews. We personally would never dare to stay here mostly because of the filthy conditions.

Alloggio in struttura antica suddivisa in 3 piani, centrale, con una bella vista, personale gentile ed accogliente.

Cons:

Scale ripide, con gradini stretti. Bagno all'ultimo dei tre piani é stata una ginnastica che per noi che siamo giovani, bene abbiamo fatto un po' di allenamento, ma non é adatta a tutti.
