The staff were helpful in moving us to a larger suite when we got a queen room instead of the king we paid for and the hallway and room smelled badly of cigarette smoke.
That our room smelled like cigarettes and we had to complain and be moved. Old property and not updated for the price. Also the rooftop restaurant really only catered to a table next to us with 4 men who were paying for a ton of alcohol (Kentucky Derby week) so our waiter was pretty much only waiting on them although we were celebrating our anniversary.
Location and staff
In room phone inop,no extra bedding for being a suite.
Building is old but updated.
location overall like hotel
the a/c system which would bang everytime it turned off mentioned to clerk at front desk and he blew it off
The location is wonderful. I stayed in the east tower, 10th floor as they gave me a free upgrade to a suite. So much room and immaculate!
The desk staff were terrific.
Super quiet and plenty of big, quick elevators.
Plenty of hot water and the shower head could be moved while you wait for it to warm up.
If you tried hard you could see the river, hard to the right.
I was surprised at a few smallish things: no shower cap. Who travels with one?
Next: no guide to the TV channels. The front desk printed one for me but why not have a QR code or something?
The closet in the bedroom had poor light. While I was happy at the lamps instead of overhead lights in the rooms, if I had navy and black to sort out it wouldn’t have been possible.
No grab bars or seats in the big shower. All showers are slippery, and if you shave your legs a seat helps.
Location heat.
AC in room was loud enough to wake the devil when it switched on, which was often. If nothing else, a hotel should give you a good night’s sleep.
The Galt House Hotel is our splurge choice when passing through Louisville. It is located on prime real estate along the river in downtown Louisville within walking distance to many of the city's sights. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Although breakfast was included with our room rate, the lineup to get in was so long that we had to ask for a delayed checkout. Luckily, they granted it.
We inadvertently caught the beginning of the Kentucky Derby season mania. Hence, the hotel was overrun and chaotic. Next time, we'll make sure to come to Louisville at a less busy time of year.
rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and the skybar was awesome! Valet parking was prompt and convenient!
a free breakfast would have been nice. Or a free drink upon arrival/happy hour.
Diner was excellent and the view amazing
I thought I booked a room with a view of the river, but didn’t
Location and professional staff
The price was much higher than expected for the amenities. There should be glasses in the bathroom and coffee cups. Would have extra bathroom items too, individually for users. No luggage rack, extra blankets or pillows
Close to many restaurants and attractions downtown. We were able to get a river view even though I had not booked that and was very excited for that.
We were very happy with our stay the downside was paying to park $30 a day.
The staff was ok.
It was hard to find, a shooting happened around the curb the night i stayed.
