We thought we had booked for two nights but in fact had booked for one so the room price was very high and not good valu
Pros:

Umbrellas for customers to use. Wall paper. Punch bowl. Hand made plates at breakfast.

Cons:

The room although clean and well thought out, was small. The staff were excellent. The original buildings were very interesting architecturally, although some of the decorative statement pieces were a bit naff. We expected a sensational breakfast in view of all the awards continually trumpeted in information displayed everywhere, however it was average.

Great small hotel for a celebration
Pros:

Fischers Baslow Hall is a lovely hotel, great for an extravagant celebration. Our room in the main house was on the small size, but extremely comfortable.
The lounge / bar and restaurant are very comfortable.
There is a choice of a 5 or 7 course tasting menu, which was fabulous. Also a set menu (3 choices per course). Good wine list.
Staff were friendly, professional and particularly impressive in the restaurant for dinner.
There is a beautiful garden - sadly after many weeks of drought at home, it rained so we couldn't enjoy sitting in the garden.

Cons:

Service at breakfast, while very friendly, was less good. One morning we had a long wait and on the second morning the food wasn't as we had ordered it, and the waitress bringing the food didnt seem very interested in that. It didnt spoil our visit but was just not quite as perfect as the rest of the service.

Heel mooi huis, geweldige kamer gekregen.
Pros:

Hele mooie locatie, prachtig huis. We kregen een upgrade van de kamer, geweldig, hele mooie kamer met een heerlijk breed bed. Personeel was erg vriendelijk.

Cons:

Great place but a bit disappointed
Pros:

The place, the old building is outstanding as well as the gardens that are beautiful.
Quiet.
Staff very kind.
Very near to Chatsworth (which was the purpose of our trip).

Cons:

The mix of contemporary and antique decoration is not to my taste, specifically in the room.
The impossibility of having breakfast on the terrace.
The high price of the vegetarian menu - same price as the traditional one, with less ingredients and fine ingredients. Price not adapted.

Wonderful week and a perfect place to enjoy The Peak District.
Pros:

This is a wonderful hotel, made even better by the exceptional friendly team who looked after us. The cuisine is divine.

Cons:

A strange one this, but if you’re going to offer accommodation and an experience of such high quality, why give your clients cheap toilet rolls? And please, there’s no need to mark every bathroom product with “please don’t take me”. Its unnecessary.

Pros:

The location was excellent, never been before. Although we only stayed one night, it was worth it for that special occasion. Staff very friendly, room was beautifully decorated - stayed in the main hall. Would definitely recommend and would stay again when visiting the area.

Fantastic luxury for a short stay!
Pros:

We loved staying at the hall. The whole experience from cocktails, dinner and breakfast was very nice. The gardens are so beautiful. We really enjoyed the kitchen counter experience for our chefs menu dinner.

Cons:

Nothing really. It would have been great to have breakfast outside. And the coffee should be better. Good cappuccino is required 😉.
