A two night break away in a local inn and it’s history of the part of North Eastern England.
Pros:

The location within twenty minutes walk to Beamish Museum. My husband is a lover of History and the Beamish Mary Inn and surrounding area still retain the feel of what it was like in one of the many Ex Mining communities.
The Mary Inn is not only a Pub but is also a community centre for the locals and is well supported which adds to atmosphere and warmth of its staff and locals.
The food was basic but was more than agreeable together with the local Beers on offer.
Breakfast was what you needed to set you up for the day, all though in my husband’s words until lunch.

Cons:

The Mary Inn could be seen as needing a Makeover as it’s a little tiered yet my husband said it adds to the charm and nostalgic feel.

Just because of where it was, I may stay there again?
Pros:

We liked where it was, near to most places we wanted to visit.

Cons:

The beds were uncomfortable, place looks tiered, breakfast was very nice, but would have liked a menu.
