Picturesque countryside retreat
Pros:

The property was stunning with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The owner and staff were all so kind and very accommodating with any questions or request. We really enjoyed our time by the pool, which was never crowded & very tranquil. We would love to return for another stay here!

Gorgeous stay in rural Douro Valley
Pros:

Dinners and breakfast are prepared and served in beautiful old dining rooms. Dinners were heavy on potatoes and meet. Fish entrees were a little overcooked. The home and facilities are in a classic idyllic vineyard and orchards environment. Absolutely beautiful and pristine setting. This is a truly a beautiful hotel. Very quiet and rural. Staff were exceptionally gracious and accommodating.

Cons:

Room maintenance could have been a little better.

Sehr angenehm mit historischer Atmosphäre!
Pros:

Eine Unterkunft in „kolonialstil“ mit besonderem Ambiente. Schön zur Erholung.

Cons:

Das Bad bedarf eine kleine Überholung. Die Gebäude entsprechen dem Alter. Das Anwesen stammt von einem ehemaligen General (ca. 1800‘er), welches neu aufgebaut bzw. über die Zeit renoviert worden ist.

Posto suggestivo. Permette di tornare indietro nel tempo. La casa é un museo.

Cons:

In generale la struttura gode di scarsa manutenzione. È consentito l'uso della piscina, ma i lettini sono ammuffiti e l'acqua non è molto pulita.
Inoltre, durante il nostro soggiorno c'è stato un problema alla rete fognaria generando un cattivo odore che non ci ha permesso di dormire bene la notte.

מקום מהאגדות. נוף מהמם . אחוזה יפיפיה מלאה בקישוטים וריהוט כבד שיוצרים אוירה של אחוזה וחויה אותנטית.
צוות נחמד מאוד .

Cons:

הריהוט בחדר עם כל היופי והאוירה לא ממש נוח ומיושן . אין מיזוג אפקטיבי אז ישנים עם חלונות פתוחים ונהנים מיתושים....ומעוברים ושבים צמוד לחלון.
ארוחת ערב יקרה ללא הצדקה מבחינת האוכל אבל מאוד בסטייל של האחוזה.

I felt like I was in a movie where the main character inherits a large estate with vineyards. What an amazing place!

This is a unique opportunity to experience history. The house is incredible. The value of this place is not in modern comfort, but in its authenticity and character. It is clear that a lot of care and effort went into preserving the interior, the furniture, and the spirit of the past. It is truly impressive.

It is very special to sit by the fireplace with a glass of local wine, have breakfast in the beautiful historic dining room, or enjoy the view of the vineyards from the terrace.

A big thank you to the owner for preserving such a wonderful place and sharing it with guests.

Teleurstellend. Te duur voor wat er geboden wordt.
Pros:

Prachtig oud landhuis op een mooie locatie. Personeel was erg vriendelijk. Eten was goed, maar vrij prijzig.

Cons:

Zeer slecht onderhouden zwembad en stoelen en kussens daarbij. Voor mensen die wat slechter ter been zijns het zwembad niet bereikbaar. Kamers zijn in oude stijl en voldoen eigenlijk niet aan de huidige eisen. Als je voor de rust komt vermijd dan het weekend, dan zijn er namelijk bruiloften en andere feesten.

Unique accommodation. Beautiful property, grounds and locat
Pros:

Breakfast buffet: fine. Buffet table d'hôte dinner: limited. Amazing property - an aristo's family home. And dinner (if taken), like breakfast, with other guests at their 20-odd seater dining table. Beautiful gardens and very peaceful setting amidst the vineyard slopes, down a 1km cobbled drive.

Cons:

Dinner - rather limited (next time we'll get a later taxi back from Lamego and eat there).
About 7km from Lamego fentre, which caught us slightly by surprise but no doubt due to poor map-reading on our part.
