Our stay at Hotel Rural Casa dos Viscondes de Várzea was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed by Maria, who is quite simply the kindest, warmest and most wonderful hostess you could hope to meet. Her passion for the house, its history and her guests shines through in everything she does, and she made us feel completely at home.

The hotel itself is stunning. Every room is filled with beautiful antiques and fascinating historical pieces, giving it so much character while still feeling comfortable and relaxing. It feels less like staying in a hotel and more like being invited into a remarkable family home.

The views across the surrounding countryside are breathtaking, and we spent hours simply enjoying the peaceful scenery. The swimming pool was another highlight—spotlessly maintained, wonderfully tranquil and never overcrowded.

The food and wine were exceptional throughout our stay. Every meal was delicious, showcasing fantastic local produce, and the wine was excellent. We were also pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced everything was, representing outstanding value for the quality.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It was one of the most memorable places we've ever stayed, and we already can't wait to return.

Tivemos uma estadia verdadeiramente inesquecível. O pequeno-almoço e o jantar foram maravilhosos, com produtos de excelente qualidade. A decoração da casa é encantadora, elegante e cheia de personalidade e história.
O ambiente é extremamente tranquilo, perfeito para descansar e repor energias. Apesar de termos reservado apenas um quarto, tivemos acesso a toda a quinta, uma propriedade magnífica que proporciona uma experiência sensorial única.
As três salas de estar são lindíssimas e repletas de história. Tivemos a sorte de conhecer um pouco da história desta casa, o que tornou a visita ainda mais especial. A capela é belíssima e está rodeada por árvores, jardins e vinhas, criando um cenário verdadeiramente encantador com a natureza.
Os funcionários são muito simpáticos, afáveis e atenciosos, fazendo-nos sentir em casa desde o primeiro momento.
Recomendo vivamente este hotel a quem procura tranquilidade, conforto, natureza e autenticidade. Sem dúvida, uma experiência a repetir.

Maria og personalet var de bedste værter i de mest romantiske og smukke omgivelser. Vi manglede aldrig noget og personalet stod altid klar til at hjælpe.

O pequeno almoço não era extraordinário, mas suficiente

The property was stunning with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The owner and staff were all so kind and very accommodating with any questions or request. We really enjoyed our time by the pool, which was never crowded & very tranquil. We would love to return for another stay here!

Dinners and breakfast are prepared and served in beautiful old dining rooms. Dinners were heavy on potatoes and meet. Fish entrees were a little overcooked. The home and facilities are in a classic idyllic vineyard and orchards environment. Absolutely beautiful and pristine setting. This is a truly a beautiful hotel. Very quiet and rural. Staff were exceptionally gracious and accommodating.
