Bar food was not as good as expected. Seats in bar torn in places
Brilliant location.breakfast was lovely.
No pool
Breakfast was amazing and staff went above and beyond can’t wait to go back
Loved everything
Lovely location, excellent dinner and breakfast
Room too hot could not sleep even with duvet off
The hotel is full of character and history. It’s very well maintained and tastefully decorated. The bedroom was lovely, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom.
The setting is beautiful, and we were lucky to have our delicious breakfast with an amazing sea view
I liked everything!
breakfast was fine and young man in Bar late on Wed night got me a sandwich despite Reception saying all was closed.
No Air Condition, No fan, no phone in room, bedside lights on wall broken, bed side reading lamps had wires
on pillows from plugs in the centre of the bed head. Temp in rook 30 degrees.
Room overlook a dirty yard with plastic bags, wheel barrow full of dirty garden stuff and other dirty papers, etc in
this yard....a breeding ground for rats.
Coffee machine pod filled small cups in the room so full one could not move them.
I called reception on my mobile - she said there was a phone in the room and a fan....lies....
I told her again there was no phone or fan.... and again requested another room, she disconnected my call..she said the house was full.....another lie...
No reply from the phone when I called back...She checked me in a large dark haired Irish girl from Galway.
At 4 am I went down to the veranda overlooking the sea and while there a man came washing the furniture and the area. I had to go into the sitting area...he almost washed me away.
At 7 am I went for a walk, the new reception person {a foreign dark haired girl) checked and told me a room was free but not for single people for couples. Only small dark rooms facing the cliff and yard were for my type.
I asked to speak to a Manager - told he may be there around 9 am. She printed out a complaint form.
One could not read the print out....
I again asked for another room she say maybe but it would be facing the dirty yard the sea view is only for families.
I checked out....most unhappy with the standard of service, attitude and lies.
Lovely location overlooking Glengarriff bay. Old world charm. Restaurants and Bar food was good and I had an excellent omelette for breakfast too.
Bar staff and Breakfast staff were excellent .
Room was well supplied with robe, slippers and good toiletries
Location is good for exploring Beara peninsula
It was during a heat wave and my room at the back was like an oven and the window only opened 2 inches.
*Minor complaint..the cord for the blinds was on the wrong side so you had to climb over the bed each time to use it.
We got a very small double room actually the smallest double room I ever stayed in...
We had for in the bar i got seafood pie portion for main course was like a starter...It was all potatoes and cream very little fish ....
Convenient
Stairs a little awkward to navigate
Setting
No air con
Location,staff
Single room was v.small and hot!!
Beautiful setting, very welcoming and lovely staff. Comfortable and up to date.
Although the beautiful ensuite bathroom was obviously very recently installed there is no where to put your toilet bag or toiletries. No shelf, nothing. Also they should have a notice to inform the guest that they need to run the tap for a VERY long time to get any hot water.
