If the Mrs is happy, it's a win win win
Pros:

It is quiet, local and definitely English, just what you would expect in England, which is disappearing fast.
We chose the excellent bacon butty for Breakfast. Superb host nothing too much trouble in a beautifull village. All the staff were excellent too

Cons:

I didn't like the fact i couldn't drink more of the two real ales they had on offer!

Eine sehr gemütliche Unterkunft, tolle Lage um einen Teil der Cotswolds zu erkunden. Außergewöhnlich freundlicher und sympathischer Gastgeber, leckeres Abendessen!

Lovely pub with great staff, fantastic evening had by all.
Pros:

We stayed for a private party at the venue.
Everything was well organised, staff went above and beyond to help organise the party, the buffet was excellent with plenty of food.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast generous and delicious with great coffee.

Nothing.

Pros:

The room was very small, however, quite comfortable. Unfortunately there was quite a large stain on the bedroom carpet.
The bathroom was very clean.

Cons:

The 'continental breakfast' consisted of a selection of corn flakes, weetabix or muesli. There was no fruit or yogurt available. It would have been nice to have had an alternative option.
The bacon sandwich was nice.

Pros:

Clean and nicely finished room, warm welcome by all the staff and excellent breakfast. We also ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meal which was fully prepared on site.

Nice stay with staff who would bend over backwards to make stay comfortable!
Pros:

Friendly accommodating staff. Excellent food for a pub. More in keeping with a restaurant!

Cons:

Room was extremely hot. Fan provided but circulated warm air and issue exasperated by bedroom being above kitchen.

Staff are extremely hospitable and the atmosphere is great. Staying in a pub is an experience not intended to match that of a large hotel, so people should consider this when making comparisons.

Cons:

My room had a kitchenette, but it is not a functional one. I had no need to cook, but some basic utensils and cleaning equipment might not be a bad idea.

Really loved it and would have no hesitation in booking again if we were in the area.
Pros:

The Lion was full of character and very comfortable. The staff were really welcoming.

Cons:

The bedroom was very warm due to the hot weather but the staff had anticipated this and provided a good fan.
