The room was nice and clean
The staff needed to do a course in social skills.
Basic things like, making guests feel welcome, being courteous and helpful, creating a positive impression, seemed non existent.
Check in was from 4pm.
We arrived early at 2.30pm and went into the bar to see if there was any chance of an early check in.
We were greeted with a curt, “you can’t check in until 4pm”
We sat down and had a drink in the busy bar.
Our room wasn’t ready by 4pm. It was 4.35pm.
We’d been standing around in a busy thoroughfare, with our case for what seemed like an eternity.
We were led upstairs to the room by a rude, highly stressed member of staff.
No apologies were offered for the delay.
Overall impression, a poorly managed, overpriced location for accommodation…and don’t let me start on the breakfast!!
Location and room
Staff very busy, food very rushed and the roast lamb was sub standard
Very quaint and the bedroom was beautifully decorated. Also had a good choice of filter coffee, tea, water and biscuits. Good selection of real ales at the bar.
People staying didn’t get preference for tables for evening meals and had to prebook ahead.
Alles perfekt
Lovely area and friendly . Room was very cramped and food was nt great
Food not great
Beautiful Room and Bathroom in a wonderful location.
Upon arrival, it was difficult to know where to check in and I had to find my way through a very dark pub with uneven floors and was kindly directed to the back bar, round the corner by another guest. When I said I was checking in, a very rude young man barked out the questions - name, how long was I staying, car reg etc. There was NO warm welcome, no eye contact, no acknowledgement etc. I felt like walking out.
The shower had the controls OUTSIDE of the shower and when you opened the shower doors to get in, the water sprayed out everywhere onto the bathroom floor.
I mopped up the pools of water with the bath mat and it was apparent that the floor was dirty, as the white mat was very quickly discoloured a "light brown colour".
There were no grab rails in the shower or near the bath, which I thought was obligatory for health and safety reasons. It was fairly dangerous exiting from the shower onto the floor as it was a fair step down. We're not all 18 and flexible!
Die Lage
Unsauber, voller Hundehaare, Essen kalt und teilweise ungenießbar
The Green Dragon was just like we expected, old, casual, relaxing and great food and drink. The room we had (#3) was wonderful. The beds were so comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. Would love to come back!
The parking was a little difficult. Very few spots.
Location
Nothing
Good location. Good food and beer. Very generous breakfasts.
There was not always room to park. Our room was not properly serviced for a couple of days.
The situation; the comfortable bedrooms; and the food.
Very limited parking; very slow service at dinner due to it being busy; public toilets far from clean; quite scruffy bar and dining areas
The room was very comfortable and spacious
I missed the personal service
Nice hotel in a beautiful area. Rooms were nicer and more spacious then expected.
Couldn’t open a window in the bathroom.
Brilliant location with the waterfall easily accessible. Lovely historic inn. We stayed in a suite- really spacious and very comfortable. Food was really good- both in the evening and breakfast. Good selection of real ales and wine.
Lovely venue and accommodation, ideally situated nearby to the waterfall. Food was lovely.
Rooms were beautiful, beds comfortable, plenty of hot water. Having a mini fridge in the room was a really useful addition. We also appreciated the full tv facilities.
The main thing that let the experience down was that we found the staff to be quite unfriendly and not very helpful. Having booked a 7.30 dinner on our first evening we had to wait quite some time for the food as it was very busy. This wasn't an issue for us at all but it meant that by the time we'd been served and eaten our meal it was 9.12 and we were subsequently refused dessert because the order cut off is 9pm. Whilst I appreciate there needs to be a last orders time in place, the staff were very inflexible around this given that the delay was out of our hands. Generally over the whole weekend the staff were quite short with customers and not terribly hospitable at all, which surprised us for such a lovely venue with a great product offer
Location
Le charme et l'authenticité de l'établissement
Le manque de place pour poser les valises
Stunning location, historical pub, brilliant night with love music and lovely food.
Breakfast a bit haphazard, part was in one room, part in another, no plates for toast and had to track down knives and forks. It would be better if everything, including teas and coffees were in the separate room and organised in a line. I struggled to get water for my tea. Because of the height of the bar I couldn't use the urn and had to get my husband to do it. This isn't a reflection of the stay which was brilliant, just some feedback that I think would improve the service. X
