Loved the different bar/dining areas,some near a roaring open fire some in a cooler area.
The food was good and the meals are generous sized portions
I didn't like having to walk like a crab (sideways) around the bed as the room was really small and I have no idea why a room so small would need such a large wall mounted tv. The room had all the usual things like hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities
Location was great and the old pub was lovely. Breakfast was really good.
Room was a bit small
Fantastic location in the Dales - very quiet and near lots of great walking routes in good countryside. Rustic old style pub with modern fixtures and fittings in the rooms. Great breakfast and food served in the evenings.
Rooms are a little cramped and basic. Parking space is limited. Some of the staff were not as welcoming as I would have liked - they did not explain how to get in and out of the main building out of hours.
Breakfast was good and included in the price. Room was large and more modern than expected.
This is a minor complaint. For dinner the staff assumed we knew the procedure, but we didn’t, so we sat at the table for a long time before someone told us what to do. We had to look at the menu and then order from the bar ( no dedicated wait staff). Also had to pay at the time of order. Owner stated he had some trouble with “dine and dash”. Once we knew the procedure the food and country ambiance were great.
Fantastic setting, surrounded by peaceful countryside and calmness. Beautiful ancient inn, with so many original features. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with a wonderful bathroom, so relaxing.
The food, both evening meal and breakfast, were local products, wonderfully cooked and presented. Such amazing coffee!
The best part by far were the staff, they were friendly, cheerful and knowledgeable.
We will definitely be going back, thank you all.

The only positive thing I can say is that the location was good.
Carpark was shared with a local attraction and therefore full. Service from arrival to leaving was poor, disinterested, we felt as though we were an inconvience.
The whole place was grubby and tatty (age of building not relevant) Menus were dogearred and stained. Dinner was at best average. Didn't have breakfast as the facilities looked even more unappealing in the light of day, other guests fried breakfast looked greasy.
The staff where friendly and helpful location was beautiful room was comfortable in a proper old inn.
The staff were welcoming. The food was good and the room was clean and spacious and actually had a fridge.
There wasn't enough car parking for the number of guests and nowhere else to park safely.
Lovely old building lots of character. Great food especially breakfast . Comfy bed but room a quite small especially with king size bed . Could do with small bedside shelf or cabinet . Staff weee very nice and helpful.
Juat room size . Also we ate in the bar area which was very noisy . Had a very long detour from Sedberg to Hawes but had stunning views all over the dales .
The set up is fantastic, it’s clean and beautifully decorated…
Friendly pub excellent staff. Comfy bed and clean
This lub is like going back in time 50 years. Real people, real fires, real beer, and a freindly atmostphere. The stone rooms give a sense of peace in the World.
The bedroom was TINY. Just enough for a double bed, plus 0.5m around it, and the bathroom was about 2 Sq.m.
Not really value for money - but you have to pay for the location I guess....

Could have done with shower mat as very slippy In the tray
Only down side when finished meal, no where to sit and enjoy the atmosphere as very busy, tables full ( good for business) but disappointment for us
