Pros:

The facilities the lakeside cabin rooms where all perfect and of high quality along with the tipi.

Pros:

The property is an ideal location when attending a wedding at Charlton hall and it’s easily accessible to Alnwick.

Cons:

During the morning the water cut out and there was a period of 15/30 mins with no water at all. Staying in room 104 was a big room however there was a very strong smell of sewage in the room. Reception was informed and they said they could try putting drain unblocker in however this did nothing to resolve this. Unfortunately this very strong smell did negatively impact sleep.
Also for the cost amenities were lacking- 2 in 1 shampoo, no moisturiser etc.

it was frustrating the staff were not more friendly

The grounds were fantastic

Cons:

On arrival the staff were in a heated discussion that should have been done away from guests. I ask if I could check in earlier they said they would call me to confirm. They didn’t !! The gentleman at the dest had a attitude.

Sehr kreative Gestaltung und gepflegt

Cons:

Bis auf 2 Ausnahmen war das Personal unfreundlich. Frühstück war zwar inklusive, aber sowohl für Cappuccino als auch Avocadotoast musste man aufzählen. Das sollte nicht sein bei den Unterkunftspreisen!
Das Leitungswasser war gechlort und dennoch gab es nur am Ankunftstag eine Flasche Wasser aufs Zimmer!
Trotz riesigem Flachbildschirm wurde das Spiegeln von Netflix oder Apple vom Handy aufs TV nicht zugelassen. Das ist in jedem Pub eine Selbstverständlichkeit!

Pros:

The location, designs, the restaurant, etc. Everything was very good! What (weirdly) stood out to me, was the nice smell of perfume throughout the hotel. It made it feel extra luxurious.

Cons:

Upon arrival, we wanted to change outfits for dinner and the curtain didn’t shut. I immediately went to the reception and 2 minutes later an employee came to try fix it. The employee couldn’t get it fixed, so he left and we had to sleep with an open window… which people could look into our room. The next morning at checkout, the receptionist only said “yes they will look at it today and try fix it” when I addressed it. Nothing more. For the price you pay staying. A sorry for the inconvenience, or getting an other room, or anything, would’ve been the least they could’ve done. So yes it was a really nice hotel and I would stay there again. But this made the experience for us uncomfortable.. we didn’t sleep well at all because of it.

Staff had broken shoes, room was dusty, cobwebs on ceilings, on lampshades, dustlayer on fan so I wouldn’t turn fan on as amounts of dust would have flown in the room. Not clean and smelled of dogs which we didn’t appreciate

Georgian history with 21st century luxury
Pros:

Area, layout, decor, staff, food, bed - all welcoming, comfortable and delicious!

Cons:

Minor issues: sash windows were beautiful and in keeping but old mechanism (Harry room) in v hot weather made ventilation tricky. 1 bathrobe missing from wardrobe.

Very good and would certainly recommend it and potentially use it again if in the area.
Pros:

Lovely place, lovely room and bath. Breakfast was good also

Cons:

Found black dots on a couple on pillows and other items including a false eyelash and straw. Nothing to get upset about but strange things I wouldn’t have expected to see in such a high end room.
