Place to stay for one night before moving to resort
Pros:

This hotel is OK for staying for one night before moving to resort for vacation. They provide a free transfer to the water taxi near the airport. Some good restaurants are nearby. Everything else is basic.

Cons:

The hotel have basic equipment. Not good, not bad. It's OK to spend one night, but if you want to stay in Male for more than one night, maybe another location can be better.

島への繋ぎで寝るだけなら十分。

・空港からタクシーで15分、10$。戻りは無料送迎してくれた。
・スタッフの対応が良い。

Cons:

Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt OK.
Pros:

Sehr nettes Personal, immer hilfsbereit und freundlich.
Das Zimmer ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Sogar eine vollwertige Küche ist vorhanden.

Cons:

Die Strände direkt in Hotelnähe sind schmutzig, nicht zum Baden geeignet. Dort halten sich hauptsächlich die Einheimischen auf. Als Tourist fühlt man sich nicht wohl.

Pros:

Location!!!! I loved this island because it was more local family vibes, still plenty of shopping and great food! The beach is your front porch! The morning sunrise and evening sunset, gorgeous!

Serious damage to equipment + poor room condition – would not recommend
Cons:

I stayed at The Hive Beach Hotel for 2 nights in Hulhumalé.

During my stay, my surfboard travel bag was stored overnight by the hotel. When I retrieved it the following morning at checkout, I discovered a large cut through 3 layers of the bag’s protective foam. The damage was not present when I arrived at the hotel, as I had inspected the bag after collecting it from Malé Airport and handled it carefully myself during shuttle transfer.

I raised this immediately at checkout with front desk staff (a woman named Blessing). She acknowledged that the damage may have occurred in the storage area, as it is very small and not suitable for storing large board bags (despite me having confirmed beforehand that storage was possible). I also noted that another guest, who arrived on a different day, experienced a very similar cut to her board bag while stored at the hotel.

Separately, I also experienced issues with the room condition. The window did not fully close properly, leaving a small gap even when shut due to a broken handle mechanism. In addition, I noticed a used toothbrush left on the window ledge near the shower area at check-in, which suggested the room had not been fully cleared or properly cleaned.

The surfboard bag is now unusable for its intended purpose and had to be replaced at a cost of AUD $559.

I contacted the hotel afterwards to try to resolve the matter directly, but they declined all responsibility despite the evidence provided.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel, particularly for travellers carrying valuable sports equipment or expecting consistent room maintenance standards.
