Quiet
Could do with a lick of paint and freshening the room up
The staff were fantastic landlord was brilliant couldn't been anymore helpful.
The location was good as it was by the canal; sitting outside was very pleasant. We enjoyed an evening meal outside but there was no breakfast at the venue. This suited our plans so no issue.
A towel rail and shelf would have been useful in the bathroom as there was no where to put things!
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The lock on the door was difficult and I had a lot of trouble removing the key from outside the door. The bathroom was a disaster. Neither the bath nor basin plugs were attached. The basin cold tap wasn't fixed so it swivelled in use. The bath panel was attached with masking tape. The mixer tap didn't work at all and had an inexplicable wrap of kitchen towel tied round it. I chose to have a bath as the shower wasn't going to work, but the mixer tap was not producing hot water in any position. The shelf over the basin was missing but the brackets remained, just right for smashing you in the side of the head. There was wallpaper peeling under one window in the bedroom.
The property did not match the photographs online or the description. After arrival we made the decision not to stay there.
Nothing it’s in desperate need for a refurb
The my room had suffered a roof leak and the ceiling and walls were damp with paint peeling from the walls. I was in room 7 and room 6 wasn’t in use and was a much better room with no damage, why they didn’t put me in room number 6 I don’t know. This is a £30-40 room not nearly 90 with no option of breakfast.
AVERAGE
Nothing
The owner and his staff were so lovely and helpful. The room was great, it was surprisingly easy to find too.
Not a lot to like. Reviews online are misleading.
This place doesn't look like it's been updated since the 1970s. Really uncomfortable bed. The shower barely worked - either a good flow of freezing water or a trickly of warm water. The kettle only worked when propped against something. Despite what the booking website says, there is no breakfast. Very noisy -woken by slamming doors and loud conversations at 1am. Exit and entry via a so-called fire escape that certainly doesn't meet regulations. We stayed here for convenience as there was a family party at the venue. There are some nice pubs in the area with accommodation that is up-to-date and includes breakfast for a better rate - try there!
Stunning property immaculate and very friendly
It was perfect
I liked the location to where I needed to be which is as near St Mary’s nursing home. I liked the land lord (Richard), very friendly.
A little tired. It was practical but needs some upgrades.
Direct outside access.. Large room. Huge bed. Very clean. Windows open. Warm
Shower temperamental. Bathroom door sticks. Shelf broke. TV reception and WiFi reception poor
No reading lamp
nice to relax in a proper pub, spa hotels are good too, but the warm atmosphere was what we needed
they seemed a bit rushed taking us up, the main business is clearly the beer
Did not stay for breakfast had to leave early.
It was all fine.
