This place is truly fantastic, one of the best places I have ever stayed. The staff are super welcoming and very kind. The room is very beautiful and clean, and the food is excellent. Great value for money
Thank you
Brilliant
Nothing
Location was fine and suited us for our purposes in the area. The beer was excellent.
Sadly, the room itself was not quite ‘up to scratch’. There were several minor issues ranging from a bedside light that didn’t work at all, the bathroom was cold and the radiator didn’t seem to function, the bed was quite soft, however we realise this is a personal preference but it was a tad on the ‘squidgy’ side. Other minor irritations were that there were not enough tea bags/milk, however the worst was the bathroom with a shower curtain which wrapped around you as you tried to shower, mould on the wall tiles ( orange mould) and ceiling mould ( black). The power of the shower was good but the water took a while to get warm and there were no grab rails as you had to climb in and out of a bath tub with a sloped ceiling. Not great if you have a few mobility issues. Also, being quite a tall person it was impossible to raise the shower to head height. These are all small issues, in addition, the floor was squeezing and we found the room to be quite noisy. The vegetation Wellington was disappointing. It stated that it arrived with a side of vegetables. There were two tiny carrots and one small sprig of broccoli. Hardly a side of vegetables. It was overall underwhelming. It was a birthday treat that didn’t really live up to expectations.
Lovely venue, nice bar, comfortable and quiet room, excellent bed and shower. Nice location if you have transport.
We were attending an event in Scarborough and an Uber cost less than £10 to get into Scarborough (40 minute wait) but £28 to return at 1am admittedly. If you have a car or even use the bus, then it is a great place to stay and it's only ten minutes into Scarborough.
Nice plentiful choice of menu
Would have been difficult for a wheelchair user due to gravel access,
Location
Cleanliness
The staff were really friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, walls are a little thin but noise wasnt too bad, restaurant and bar was nice, had some locals who were friendly, had breakfast which was also really nice, no complaints
Charming place, Location is ideal for a trip to Scarborough Open Air Theatre
The Kettle was dirty (and sticky), there was only one toilet roll and the rooms upstairs are incredibly loud.
Everytime anyone else walks or talks you hear absolutely everything.
Nice location
Location, lovely garden and friendly staff
Bed felt quite worn
Beautiful building and surrounding
Nothing
The hotel was clean spacious and very convenient for our stay
Unable to comment all good
Everything was as I expected, no problems at all .
the staff were excellent could not fault anything
Great hotel and grounds. Dog friendly,
I confirmed I was travelling with a dog, I upgraded, we received a key for room 11, however when my husband asked for a iron as there wasn’t one in the room then asked where we could eat with a dog the reception staff said we shouldn’t be in room 11 and asked us to move!
I was in the bath! We had to move all our belongings from a four poster room which I upgraded to , to a room in the annex which was fine albeit could of been fresher, with no refund only that I was told its £20 to upgrade oh but that’s the price for your dog!!! Even tho the room was far less superior?!
We just felt the staff were running around doing multiple roles … bar, reception, waiting on the food wasn’t amazing just such a shame as the hotel is really lovely.
Sorry to be posting this but in all honesty we will not be staying again.
Nice and quiet
Good for dogs, large grass area to walk around
