This is a delightful colonial hotel in the heart of Suchitoto. The hotel is very well furnished with ancient/old furniture and is tastefully decorated. The refreshing swimming pool and the tropical garden are very enjoyable. The owners of the hotel, Pascal (from France) and Joaquin (from El Salvador), are very nice and welcoming people, and motivate well the hotel staff.
The rooms are air conditioned but they would benefit of some more ventilation, which I undertand is not easy due to the size of the original windows of the building.

I didn't like anything about that hotel. You can't flush the toilet you have to put toilet paper in a trash can but doesn't close and it was gross. There's no refrigerator in the room. Lots of the rooms are very moldy smelling. They charge you for every single thing at breakfast. I asked for butter and they charge me a dollar I asked for salsa for my eggs and they charged me a dollar fifty. They charged me $2 for juice that was included at breakfast I made them take it off. I asked for sauce my dry steak at dinner and they charged me a $1.15 as well as another dollar for one pad of butter. To me a hotel is a terrible value when it gets over $100 price point if it doesn't have minimally a refrigerator also the room doesn't have a safe. By the way for $140 you don't even get hot water in the shower or in the sink.
What I liked about that hotel was being able to leave.

El servicio del bar fue reactivo y poco amable. El menú del restaurante fue concebido con mucha ambición con la intención de acercar la oferta a un bistró francés pero el resultado es nefasto. Tiene que mejorar notablemente. Y las camas son muy incomodas.

Came for a weekend away from San Salvador and wanted to visit Suchitoto properly, having only visited before for a day trip. Didn't know about this hotel but so glad I discovered it and its unique feel - the owners were there and have a fascinating history both in the past and present.
Lots of mosquitos in the room but reception gave me spray to deal with it.
Breakfast was always delicious and staff was the best! They were so friendly, professional and very attentive to our needs. Great service!
Additional AC units in the apartment suite but single rooms were fine.
Excellent location...wonderful staff...good food...nice pool...close to many shops and restaurants.
