We’ve had a fabulous three night stay at this beautiful hotel.
The staff could not be kinder and were so friendly and professional.
The food was delicious.
Rooms were spotless with stunning views.
Beautiful, well kept gardens.
Would not hesitate in returning.
Breakfast was excellent. Location overlooking the hills was beautiful.
Location was excellent
If there was a lift it would have been awesome!
Great location, clean, modern and comfortable with beautiful views. Staff were friendly, breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked and they let us use the boot room to store our bikes.
Dining area, bar area and room was modern
Our room was on the top floor. The bathroom was ridiculous. Tiniest shower I’ve ever seen in my life. Couldn’t even lift arms up in the shower. Very basic for what we paid. £160 for one night.
Very little drinks options
Very expensive
A very fine hotel. Refurbished in recent times to a high standard. The air conditioning during a heatwave was very welcome! The staff are friendly, efficient and well organised. There is a very good restaurant serving a range of food. Caesar Salad maybe best ever eaten! The grounds are well kept. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from bustling Grasmere centre but is far enough away to be a peaceful oasis. The views of the surrounding fells are splendid. Plentiful parking.
All very good
The staff were lovely, good location, free parking.
I ate in the restaurant at the hotel one of the nights, which happened to be my birthday, and ended up with food poisoning. I was apologised to and told "this has never happened before" - doesn't mean it can't happen.
No refund was offered for the meal that caused this. I was told there would be an investigation, and that the owner would be in touch as they were there that day. I have not heard from the owner regarding the "investigation".
The room was noisy, every morning I got woken up by the people in the room above due to the very noisy floorboards. You could hear everytime someone turned on a tap, flushed a toilet, had a shower. I could hear the couple in the room next to me arguing late at night. The bed wasn't an actual king size as it had two separate mattresses next to each other which meant the middle of the bed had an uncomfortable join.
No fridge in the room to keep water cold, essential especially during this heat.
The room had an infestation of moths - I was told "we are in nature". The windows in my room were never opened during my stay and somehow there were 17 moths in my room over 2 days.
Great hotel, in a lovely location. Comfortable, clean, and excellent food. Great friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely go back!
Nothing
We travel frequently and stay in many different hotels in the Lake District, but we have never had the opportunity to stay somewhere as exceptional as this.
We were truly impressed by every aspect of our stay – the modern design of the hotel, the outstanding customer service, the excellent facilities, the impeccable cleanliness, and the incredible food. Every meal was beautifully presented and of the highest quality.
If it were possible to give this hotel 11 out of 10, we absolutely would. It is a truly wonderful place that exceeded all of our expectations.
We will definitely be coming back and can't wait to stay here again. Highly recommended!
Everything
The food prices are almost double compared to nearby restaurants. Options are less.
Very clean, lovely grounds, nice views from restaurant and garden. (And presumably some rooms)
Great breakfasts freshly cooked near the dining area. Great position in Grasmere for everything without being on the Main Street. Various prices for rooms depending on the size and views.
Nothing
Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the village. Plenty of parking. Lovely, spotlessly clean hotel. Very nice large room with good facilities and lovely view over beautiful gardens. Bathroom was exceptional with separate bath and large powerful walk-in shower. Nice evening meal in restaurant and good choice for breakfast.
Nothing
Location was beautiful. Staff very welcoming and polite. Rooms quite spacious, plenty storage, big beds with super-soft bedding. Air conditioning was amazing during the heatwave. Very powerful rainfall shower. Restaurant evening meal was delicious and breakfast lovely too. Partial lake views from lake view room and farm animals right outside our window which we enjoyed watching. Would highly recommend this hotel!
Nothing to dislike.
Staff were all really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.
Evening meals were a bit salty.
