Please be aware that if the main hotel is fully booked, a room will be reserved for you in Rillside Lodge which is located in the same grounds. The Lodge is located just 50 yards from the main hotel reception with its own private parking and can be accessed via the hotel gardens on foot or via the road running alongside the hotel by car. The only difference between the lodge and the hotel is that guests come across to the hotel for meals.
Only 2 rooms are suitable for wheelchair access or for those with mobility issues. To confirm a suitable room, please contact Booking.com Customer Service prior to booking.

Excellent location
Set in beautiful surroundings
The location is perfect for Grasmere with onsite parking. The views are stunning and the hotel is modern and clean. Claire who checked us in and basically served us for breakfast and dinner, is a credit to the hotel, very polite, knowledgeable and always had a smile on her face. Thank you.
The room was at the top of some steep stairs and you had to walk through the restaurant to get there!

We had a fantastic double room (in the annexe) with lovely views over the gardens. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful or friendly and the food in the restaurant and at breakfast was excellent. Full marks all round.

Room 50 doesn't have a door on bathroom.
Breakfast was lovely as was the evening meal we had there.The location was excellent right in Grasmere itself. There were łbeautiful views all round the hotel. The staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful at all times.ł
Huge numbers of decorative cushions on the bed look ‘nice’ but clutter up the room when not in use.
The ‘duvet’ was too warm but this is always the case in hotels - the lightweight synthetic bedcover always seems too warm. A cotton sheet would have sufficed .
10/10 for location — the views were amazing from nearly every direction. The rooms and social areas were decorated to a very high standard, and the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. We had a very relaxing stay.
Not much we did not like. More fruit selection for breakfast, maybe replacing the items that had run out on the continential breakfast. Breakfast to order made up for this. Drinks and snacks were on the expensive side, £5 for a san pelligrino is a tad steep.

Our room was excellent and had every facility we needed. It was serviced every day and tea, coffee and bottled water were replenished. Very easy access to the beautiful gardens.

Location in the center of Grasmere village, hiking can start from door steps, delicious breakfast and super attentive and friendly staff.
We encountered 2 giant spiders but that’s being in the wild for you!

I'd like to see better vegetarian options on the menu, it's limited...and I wish they served baked beans at breakfast
