The location was excellent, the room comfy, the staff friendly & helpful & the food excellent; and my wife enjoyed her spa treatment.
Having said which...the hotel (particularly the areas lesser- or not-used-by-guests) were a bit shabby, the restaurant menu a bit limited and the on-duty staff clearly overworked (or not present in enough numbers) for the evening meals.

Very very tired. Very poor service. Totally under-staffed. A sad reflection
We were evacuated from our house due to the wildfire and were able to book a room here. We have been here 5 days..It is an unusual hotel in a magnificent setting. The staff were very kind to us and we could not have been treated better anywhere.
The car park is a little way from the entrance.
