Riu Plaza Miami Beach

Très mauvaise expérience. Chambre petite et beaucoup trop chère. Le pire, on doit traverser la salle de bain pour entrer dans la chambre.
Le personnel est antipathique et uniquement hispanophone! La piscine est très petite et l’eau très chaude et sale.

The bill at the end of our stay. I was told I was due $650 and had to pay it and then I would get the breakdown. I would have liked to have seen what I was paying for before I actually paid it. But then once I did get the print out there was no real

I forgot my some of my cloth, I send an email but no one answered.

The breakfast was mediocre. Towards the end of breakfast serving time, the French toast that was put out was barely cooked. Bacon was almost undercooked. Overall disappointing.
Rooms do not feel private. Every noise in the hallway can be heard inside of the room and vice versa. Bathroom door is almost see through - frosted glass with large gaps around it. No privacy. Flooring was tattered in the room and dated in the hallway. Lots of patches on the walls with thick sloppy paint covering up blemishes. There were holes in the curtains. Ocean view was almost non existent. Room smelled like mildew, and there was mildew on the pillowcases. We checked out a day early and flew elsewhere to continue our 25th anniversary trip.

We stayed at the RIU Plaza Miami Beach, and unfortunately our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived.

When we were checking in, there was already a family at reception complaining that their wallet had been stolen, which immediately made us feel uneasy about our stay.

We were then allocated a room on the 9th floor with a very poor view overlooking a grubby building at the back of the hotel, which was far from what we expected. Once we got into the room, we found it to be very small and extremely basic. If you’re only staying for a couple of nights, it would probably be adequate, but for a longer stay it certainly wasn’t what we were expecting.

After dropping our luggage off, we headed to the pool bar to relax. Instead, we were greeted by several police officers speaking to a female guest who was visibly distressed and crying. We were later told that she had been slapped in the face by a man. Witnessing this on our first day only added to the negative first impression of the hotel.

The beach was another disappointment. There was a significant amount of sargassum washed ashore, which created a strong sulphur smell. We appreciate that this is a natural occurrence and not something the hotel can control, but it nevertheless had a negative impact on our overall experience of the beach.

What was within the hotel’s control, however, was the attitude of the beach staff. Although the beach facilities officially close at 6:00 pm, staff began clearing away the sunbeds from around 5:00 pm. This happened to us on our second evening while we were still using them, making us feel as though we were being rushed off the beach an hour before closing time.

The lift situation was also frustrating. With only three lifts serving the hotel, there were constant long waits, and when a lift finally arrived it was usually full. It often stopped on almost every floor, making getting around the hotel time-consuming.

Very few elevators. Housekeeper keeps talking to me in her native language even though i already told her that I don’t speak and understand her then she looked so frustrated/rude.
