Sister’s place

- MOULDY bedroom! Not acceptable as it is a serious health and safety issue. You could smell a disgusting earthy smell once the sun went down. I developed a headache after being in the room for about four hours with the door closed.
- Windowsill was covered with electrical tape (to hide mould perhaps), which I only noticed the next day.
- The shared bathroom was also mouldy and the bathtub had stains on it. Paula said a previous guest spilled hair dye.
- The flooring in the kitchen moved a little and seemed sunken in. Likely to be a foundation problem, which would make sense given the prevalent mould.
- The soundproofing throughout the house was non-existent. You could hear everything from kitchen activities, TV, shower, toilet flushing, etc. This room shares a wall with the shower.
- The area might have questionable neighbours, but at least they were quiet. The motorway noises were noticeable as others have pointed out.

Luckily I was able to cancel after complaining to Booking.com and go to a different place since Paula didn't have another room available. However the refund was another pain to deal with.

Abysmal internet. Can't connect to anything and super slow. Google banned usage so could prepare the next part of my trip

Traffic was a little noisy.

That Northwestern Motorway is pretty close. That means noisy. The odd loud exhaust from cars and motorbikes woke me a few times. Slept well otherwise.
