Pros:

Staff in the morning for breakfast were great

Cons:

guy at check in was not so helpful, rooms tired, not too clean, bar area/restaurant very tired and dirty. We were in a ground floor room, it smelled of damp/mould

Would return again. Rooms could just do with a freshen up.

Good location for GNR. Free parking and the price was cheap

Cons:

There was a weird smell throughout the hotel and rooms but it did go after a while. Outdated but it was fine for our stay.

Basic accommodation but ideal for a night or two
Pros:

Location ideal for GNR, towels were lovely, staff were accommodating.
Room was basic, but can’t complain

Pros:

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, I cannot fault them!

Cons:

The rooms were very basic, with no USB charge sockets and two very distanced sockets (was okay for me on my own, but a couple couldn't both charge their devices without the devices being at opposite ends of the room.
I understand surge pricing for the GNR, but £150+ was a little pricey for the facilities in the room

A friendly hotel good location.
Pros:

The bed was comfy staff was friendly it was central for what we needed. Free parking which was good.

Cons:

The carpets needed a clean our room had a strange smell in it like mouldy stale smell so we opened the windows and it went after half an hour. Not sure if it had a lift we didn’t see one carrying cases up 3 flights.

Robbed of our money in quite clearly a contractors hotel or a run down hotel because of it being the great north run

Booked way in advance with a baby and they put us upstairs without a lift

The bath was grimy and bedding was stained on the next room and very off colour / yellow white

Like the room enough space to walk around and the bath room was ok

Cons:

The bed felt lumpy but it was the mattress protector it was to small for the bed also the pillows need pillow protectors I notice one of the pillows had yellow stains.

Friendly and good value
Pros:

The staff are very helpful and friendly, breakfasts are freshly cooked on demand (they're the best I've had because of that). The hotel is very quiet despite being near the A1M (perfect location and easy to find). Plenty of car parking.

Cons:

It needs a refurbishment (I think that's happening in the next year).
