We enjoyed our weekend. Would stay again on non race or event days.
Pros:

Location great, Staff were helpful. It was super busy as the races were in town.

Cons:

Got shown to the wrong room at first, was a standard below ours. The bathroom was not great at all. Not very well thought out. No shelf in the shower to put anything on, its an easy fix. It was like a wet room as opposed to a separate shower, the water went all over the floor, and toilet paper. This must happen to everyone but no one has thought to give bath mats or extra towels for the floor. No fans provided as there is no air con. Can live with no air con but Its been a very hot few weeks and there are not many rooms. Buy six fans for your rooms?

Great option for a stay in Cartmel
Pros:

Great location, full of character and in the heart of the village. Comfy beds.

Cons:

On a very hot evening with the windows open there can be a lot of noise from people outside if you are at the front of the pub. Not a major problem - just to be aware.

Cons:

Location of hotel during races weekend was not for the faint hearted.Right in the centre of Cartmel the hotel is great if you want to party and be up till 1.30 am .The atmosphere was great if your a party gower fantastic however our room was bang in the middle on top of the bar, window had to be open as it was the heatwave .No sleep till after 2 in the morning.Fight broke out in hotel garden area and shouting swearing from pub users was deafening .Not recoomended at all .

On arrival on the Friday the staff were amazing 2 members of staff helped me to the room while my husband parked the car

The bedroom was beautiful. The bed was really comfy and overall it was a lovely roomy

Cons:

On our last evening we finished the night back at our hotel we bought a bottle of red wine which was quite expensive to be given cheap plastic throw away glasses it was after 10 o’clock and we were sat inside so why we couldn’t have proper glasses were ridiculous we were of an average age of 60 so were unlikely of causing any trouble, also we had some gin and tonic’s to which the bartender who clearly wasn’t very happy poured all of the tonic into the plastic pint glass this was totally unacceptable.

Dated and needing refurbish.
Pros:

Great staff, great bar and entertainment and good quality food available. Good location and outside tables. Comfortable bed.

Cons:

Toilet seat didnt fit and was loose. Basin tap loose and no plug in basin. Ensuite door didnt close fully. TV remote only worked when behind TV. Towel radiator was too hot to touch, literally!

Pros:

The staff when around were pleasant.

Cons:

No food available although alternative breakfast in the cartmel cafe was provided. The property smelled of fish and decay. It needed a good clean. Shower head did not work. I paid for upgrade and got a basic room. I walked on the bedroom floor with bare feet and they were filthy! No loo roll in the ladies.the outside area was also filthy.glasses left from the night before etc.
