Always an excellent stay, clean, comfy, wonderful staff and a great breakfast. They have everything you could need, it's in a great location and lovely and quiet, a fantastic stay.
We only stayed for one night as a stopover on our journey home, but overall had a great experience.
The bed was very comfortable and I was really impressed with the choice of pillows. The room was clean and spacious, with plenty of room for suitcases and belongings. The water refill station with ice was also a great and useful touch.
The bathroom was a great size and well designed, although it could use a little TLC. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn't working properly and was only blowing warm air, which made the room very uncomfortable, especially as it was one of the hottest days of the year. The manager did manage to fix it, although it took a while as he was busy and on his own, and then the room took some time to cool down.
We didn't use the golf facilities or eat at the hotel, so can't comment on those. We chose the hotel purely because it was on our route home. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean, and there were some really nice touches like the pillow choices and water refill station. The air conditioning issue was just unfortunate timing given the extreme heat, but the manager did make an effort to resolve it.
Quiet location. Wide corridors, spacious room. Air conditioning was excellent. Very easy parking. Staff friendly and offered great customer service. Warm welcome when we went to clubhouse for drinks.
Great base to explore the area.
We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment.
Drive very slowly, be aware of the small speed bumps, they are not humps !!!!
Comfortable and clean
Breakfast room was too small for the number of people.
It was everything we expected
Location, ease of booking and quality of room
Beautiful location and grounds.
Restaurant was closed on Saturday night, no prior notice given. We were the only guests not there for golf and the only women staying in the hotel.
Room clean and comfortable. EV charger good and quick. Staff friendly.
Room decor a bit bland. TV too small for size of room. Drinks very expensive. Avoid breakfast! No clear tables to sit at. Maybe short staffed. Waited 35 mins for tea to arrive despite several chases. Lack of plates. Porridge was inedible. Sausages tasteless. Big queue at buffet. Water had bits in from dispenser. Tea pot only half filled. The list goes on. Left our weekend disappointing after looking forward to what we thought would be a top venue. Did report it to reception. Feel sorry for the waiting staff. Seemed disorganised. NOT WORTH the over £200 we paid for the night.
The stay was a disaster a golfing group of men kept us up for a couple of hours playing football in the corridor. Messing with fire extinguishers and playing loud music. No staff were on site to deal with this. It spoilt our stay. We have requested a refund
Above
Room was very comfortable and a good size the air conditioning was efficient which we were glad of in the current hot weather
Nothing
Nice location and nice room.
Air con only controlled by reception despite frequent requests to say the room control not working.
Breakfast finishes at 10.30. Paid for breakfast at reception at 10.00. Then found continental breakfast was just jam and butter, no croissant pasties left at all. then told that they would not be replenished.
Total confusion over restaurants. Were told that lounge in hotel was closed. But Terrace menu and Fairway Restaurant were available in the clubhouse. Walked to clubhouse and then told that the only menu was the terrace menu (very limited) and was in the bar area. Also told that the bar area was the Fairway Restaurant but not using that menu.
Then booked a meal in Kingsclere. Only to find that when we walked back to the hotel building the Fairway Restaurant was in fact open due to a "booking".
Large, clean and comfortable room, good shower, extremely good breakfast especially the sausages
Nothing
Loved it
Nothing
Very comfortable large air conditioned rooms
Superb location, nestling amongst 3x9 hole golf courses, in beautiful typically English countryside; with pheasants and wild geese feeding peacefully right outside both the hotel & golf club restaurant windows.
Dining at night in the golf club restaurant, the food was excellent; (but the drinks pricey). However, the breakfast in the hotel was distinctly disappointing for this standard of hotel.
Staff were friendly and the room and bathroom were lovely and presented well
The air conditioning wasn’t good enough, not really modern enough and certainly a distinct lack of cooling, which was the main reason I chose this hotel
Rural location, peaceful, nice polite staff, large rooms and comfortable
