Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings, newly decorated bedrooms, very comfy beds, and lovely bathroom, very friendly staff
Food in the restaurant was overall very good ,some of our party had steak pie and they differed in how much meat in each of them but very tasty, the desserts were very nice too
Two of our party had a dog friendly room and it was dated,we were told that they are refurbishing all the rooms at different stages so it would be done soon.
I had booked to go in the dining room for my and my sisters bdays, when I went to look in,I asked where we were sitting, the young member of staff told me we were not sitting in the dining room as we had a dog,I had told the reception we were not bringing the dog in when I booked the table and I specifically asked for the dining room, she said sorry but they had other people having birthdays so no space for us!
I then complained and asked to see the manager,of course they weren't working that day,I had booked this well in advance so felt annoyed about it all.
The young member of staff said she would try and fit us into the room if possible which I said ok if you can, obviously not her fault at all,we were put on a nice table and all that was ok in the end,I thought she would be a great member of staff for the future as I found out she had only been there a week and after a shaky start she resolved our problem
The service was very slow it took an hour for our pre ordered meal to come, maybe they need more staff in the kitchen ?
The hotel was located in a quiet area. The room was beautiful, had all the amenities anyone could want and it was spotless. With the bar and restaurant on site it made for a perfect stay. All the staff were lovely, the customer service, waiters, cook and manager all made time to chat and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be recommending our stay to friends and family.
There was nothing to dislike, we loved our stay and will be booking again in the near future.
Beautiful property set in lovely grounds with only a short walk to Wrea Green
There were two weddings over The weekend & we didn’t get any sleep what so ever as smokers stood outside our bedroom window talking till 2,45 in the morning. This matter should have been felt with as it’s unacceptable.
Sad as the staff at The Hotel are lovely food is excellent & the rooms are very clean. This should have been a nice rest for my husband who has cancer & instead we have come home shattered.
Absolutely fowl language by the wedding party is most unacceptable.
All said in the above.
Beautiful setting
Welcoming / friendly staff
Lovely hotel
Room always nice
N/A
Friendly staff, comfy bed, good breakfast
Some very minor issues eg hot water took ages to come through tap (although shower was quick), no shelving in bathroom for toiletries, no fan in bathroom meaning lots of steam.
The hotel was in a good country location but within an easy walking distance of the lovely village of Wrea Green. Our room had very recently been refurbished to a high standard and exceeded our expectations. We had a Sunday roast in the restaurant which was delicious and served by friendly staff.
Having traveled a long distance, I was disappointed that there was no EV charger.
The property itself and friendly staff
Nothing
Friendly staff. Clean room. Good shower and nice shampoo and soaps.
The room was newly refurbished but there were no instructions how to use the facilities - the lighted mirror (lots of time spent trying to turn it off, we found the isolation switch to the bathroom fan. There is very limited space to hang and dry 4 towels.
No EV charging point on site
We felt that it was over priced given the renovation work going on around us
Perfect location for what we needed. Stayed in a newly refurbished bedroom which was done to a very good standard.
We thought the menu was quite limited in the restaurant.
Ownership changed at the end of 2025 and an extensive renovation of the guest rooms is underway. We had one of the newly renovated rooms and it was gorgeous and very well appointed ; truly massive and comfortable bed, climate controlled room, large shower including overhead "rain" fitting, huge 65" TV. The hotel is on the edge of a protected village centre and is well off a rural road. It is very quiet at night, no traffic noise what so ever. There is plenty of parking.
We only had continental breakfast which was excellent and filling with lots of choice. Did not have dinner on this occasion as we had commitments elsewhere but previous experiences of stays would suggest that it would be good.
No shower shelf for toiletries but we understand that observation had already been pointed out and would be rectified.
The room was lovely
The staff were pleasant
The breakfast was excellent
The only negative for me was the bed was to soft and the duvet was to heavy for summer..
