No evening meals on Sundays
Our pub's kitchen closes early on a Sunday and last orders for food are at approx. 3pm. If you have booked for Sunday we will be glad to facilitate an early check-in to accommodate for this. The Star Inn at Harbottle (3 min drive) is also an excellent alternative if you can't arrive early.
Our pub is normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
Please note that our pub/restaurant is closed on most Mondays (unless Monday is a Bank Holiday) and Tuesdays. The Star Inn will be open and we will help with transport if necessary.This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.

We loved the location and cleanliness, the food was homemade and fabulous. The staff were so friendly too.

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The location is in very picturesque countryside and quiet, despite being attached to their Public house. The guest house staff were very friendly and helpful and there were good drinks making facilities in the restaurant area. We ate most evening meals at the Star Inn nearby, which we enjoyed.
The double bed was two singles pushed together, which we knew they would be. However unfortunately the duvet was also two large and heavy singles. The night was one long struggle with these, which either ended up on the floor or all tangled and doubled up in the middle of the bed. The bathroom blind was see through, which gave no privacy from the Pub grounds. Their Pub did not match the ambience or quality of the Guest house - our one meal there was not great.

Lovely quiet location with beautiful views from the room and the garden.
Shame that the restaurant wasn't open and no other places to eat or to buy food nearby. However, we managed to get a meal in the next village at late notice. Otherwise, a lovely place, very homely.
Lovely room with poet theme (a bonus) and swallows nesting just outside window (another bonus!). Very clean and comfortable. A friendly and helpful welcome from staff. Very quiet, although we were there on a day when the pub next door was not open.

As a coliac would of prefered more options for dinner. For breakfast GF sausages and mushrooms and at least one options for cereals. Also no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but could get one from downstairs.

It was closed! Booking.com promote this establishment as a 4 star hotel when in fact it is a B&B!
I will never use Booking. com again. They are impossible to contact and really do not care.
I had to pay even though I did not stay. The owner of the B&B gave me a 60% discount as he said that booking.com would charge him. Moral of the story, phone the hotel before booking and quote booking. com, price. See if they will match it Have done it since and most hotels do match the figure
Everything was amazing!
Such a lovely place. Very comfortable bed, really nice bathtub and shower. The walks in the surrounding area are gorgeous. And most important of all the people are absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful stay.
