Extremely disappointing experience – poor service and unprofessional staff

My stay at Novotel Pune was extremely disappointing. The level of service was far below what one would expect from a reputed hotel brand.

At checkout, we were unexpectedly charged extra despite having already paid the full amount at check-in. Any additional expenses for food and laundry during our stay were being paid in cash, yet the hotel still added extra charges to our bill. When I questioned this, the lady at the reception responded very unprofessionally and even rolled her eyes at me. Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but this kind of attitude towards a guest is completely unacceptable.

The food quality was very mediocre, and the breakfast service was particularly poor. Basic items such as butter and ketchup were not available on the buffet table. Every time we requested something, including butter, ketchup, or coffee, it took an unreasonable amount of time for the staff to provide them.

The condition and replenishment of room supplies were also shocking. The toilet rolls provided were extremely small, the tissue box had only around 6–7 tissues, and essential toiletries like shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were almost finished. This was after only a three-night stay, and by the second night, the supplies were already nearly over.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The staff appeared unprofessional, the service was poor, and the attention to basic guest needs was lacking. I would not recommend Novotel Pune and will definitely not be returning.
